As the last customer walked out, Natasha set to locking everything up, as Fred checked the flat upstairs to make sure all of the windows were closed. George and Angelina had left early to go on a date, which left Adrian, Fred and Natasha to head off to Sirius and Aurelia's place.
Aurelia had practically adopted Adrian like her own child, constantly fussing over him every time he came over, forcing more and more food onto his plate. Secretly, he loved it, so he was always ready to go at 5:30 on the dot, dressed smartly.
Today was no different, and he had opted for all black, a nod to the house he was about to go to. Natasha had a simple blouse and shorts on, whilst Fred was in a t-shirt with pants, both of their outfits drastically more casual than Adrian.
"You don't have to dress up every Friday, Adrian," Natasha said, as she pulled her wand out of her bun. He rolled his eyes whilst taking his wand out of his waistband, ready to apparate. Fred latched his hand onto Natasha's arm, and in a second, the three apparated, their stomachs already grumbling.
There, waiting by the lounge they had apparated into, stood Sirius, Aurelia and a beaming Harry. He had been staying with Aurelia and Sirius for the whole summer, which meant that his growing 16-year-old body had filled out a lot more, and he easily towered over his god sister now.
Remus and Tonks were also coming, and a second crack near the front door confirmed this, as Tonks' energetic being ran into the room to hug everyone, followed by her blushing boyfriend.
Sirius chuckled at Remus' flustered face as he pulled his daughter into a hug, before pulling his wife in also, something they had been doing ever since Aurelia had recovered. They always hugged each other upon arrival and just before Natasha left, never once complaining.
"Adrian darling give me my hug!" Aurelia said with a chirp, and the boy grinned, running to hug her. She looked over him for any injuries or issues but stopped as he saw the blush on his cheeks that hadn't left since Oliver's visit.
"Now who's got my boy in a daze?" she asked, taking him into the kitchen to gossip over coffee. Sirius and Remus took off to the garden to set up the new barbeque that Arthur had gifted them with for Sirius and Aurelia's wedding anniversary.
Natasha, Tonks and Fred followed Aurelia and Adrian's lead, swiping a teapot on the way so that Natasha could brew some for Tonks and Remus. Aurelia was already seated with a mug of steaming coffee in her hands, and she conjured some for Fred and Natasha, the latter pouring in some cocoa powder thanks to all the times Remus had done it.
"So, who's the lucky witch or wizard that has my boy all happy?" Aurelia asked eagerly, leaning on the edge of her seat. Adrian blushed, and Tonks ran outside to give Remus a coffee, leaving Natasha and Fred to sit opposite Adrian.
"Well, he's the new keeper for Puddlemere United, but when he went to Hogwarts, he was the Gryffindor captain and seeker," Adrian said, his cheeks somehow reddening even more. Aurelia gasped in delight as her daughter and future son-in-law chuckled, quickly earning glances from her that shut them both up.
"Oh, a Gryffindor?! I'll be honest, they can be hard to tame with their wild streaks and all, but a true Gryffindor will always value your heart first, and they are extremely protective people," she said, looking out the doorway to her husband.
He was laughing away with Remus, teaching Harry some basics of how to properly cook on a barbeque, but he felt Aurelia's gaze on him, and sent her a swift wink before putting his attention back on Remus.
"So, what's his name? How old is he? Is he cute? When can I meet him?" Aurelia questioned, firing one question after the other.
"His name is Oliver, he's 20, he's very cute, and you can meet him right now," Natasha answered, standing up to fetch an apple from the fruit bowl. "I invited him for dinner just before we left the flat."
Adrian's jaw dropped, as a crack was heard from the living room, and in walked Oliver, still dressed in a turtleneck sweater with comfortable pants. Aurelia jumped from her seat to greet him, smiling to herself at the strong boy in front of her who had been staring at Adrian the whole time.
"Now, you look an awful lot like Augustus Wood," she commented, and Oliver nodded.
"That's my dad," he confirmed, finally looking around the once cramped kitchen. It now had flowers in vases in various spots, as well as a shiny floor and new kitchen equipment.
"He was five years ahead of me, but he tutored me when I was in my first year after I expressed interest in advanced charms," she said. Oliver smiled and sat down by Aurelia, eagerly chatting away and talking about how his family was going.
Harry came back inside after setting the barbeque on fire, and his face lit up at the sight of his old quidditch captain. "Oliver!" he said, leaning over the table to shake his hand.
"Harry, I see you've been appointed as the new quidditch captain," Oliver said with a smile, and Harry nodded eagerly.
"Yeah, it's fantastic. Couldn't have gotten to where I was without you though," he added, and Oliver beamed, laying back in his chair a bit.
"I'll be sure to come down and watch one of your matches this year, even if I have to bribe Minnie to get in. Or I could just offer her free tickets to a Puddlemere match during Christmas, I know how much she adores us," Oliver said. Natasha smirked and stood up from her seat, grabbing Fred's hand.
"Let's leave the quidditch fanatics and the love expert to their conversations baby," she whispered, and he nodded, quietly standing up. But Adrian wasn't going to let them go without getting them back for the whole Oliver thing.
"Don't forget the protection! I'm not becoming an uncle yet you horny rabbits!" he yelled, and the couple blushed a deep crimson, running away to the roof, all the while awakening Regulus.
"No babies, they're loud, insufferable creatures," he groaned, slumping in his portrait.
"You just say that because you've never held an actual child Regulus," Aurelia chimed, and he looked down at her, swiftly flipping her off.
"I'm still mad at the fact you put orchids right in the middle of the dining table that I can see," he grumbled, turning his back to her. She tutted and stood up, leading Oliver, Harry and Adrian out to the garden, whilst levitating some salads and other cold treats behind her.
Sirius put down his glass of whiskey and pulled his wife into an affectionate hug, kissing her long and sweet, watched on by Fred and Natasha, who were safely stowed away behind a chimney on the roof of 12 Grimmauld Place.
From where they sat, they could see the rooves of the houses in London, just like the opening scene to many of the muggle movies Sirius had been making them watch every Friday. Smoke was billowing from some of the brick chimneys, and the sound of car horns honking from the city floated their way up to the young couple.
"It's such a wonderful view from here," Natasha sighed, leaning her head on Fred's shoulder. He hummed in agreement, pressing a loving kiss to her head. In all honesty, it was times like this when he truly appreciated just how lucky he was, basking in the dying summer sun nearly set to the woman he intended on proposing to soon.
The ring was ready, sitting safely in his pocket. All he was waiting for was the right time.
