Sure enough, just as quickly as the summer had arrived, it was September 1st, and Sirius, Remus, Molly and Arthur all stood at the platform, though Sirius' animagus form attracted the attention of many children.
Remus captured Natasha in a hug, promising to see her soon, though the look in his eye was odd, almost as if he were a child excited for Christmas. Molly couldn't stop smiling, Arthur insisted on them not coming home for Christmas, and Sirius' tail was wagging at a million miles an hour.
The adults were quite cryptic over their strange behaviour, including when Charlie told Natasha she would be seeing him soon.
"What on earth are you rattling on about Weasley?" she asked, earning an innocent shrug from the man.
By now, people all new about Fred and Natasha as they entered the carriage hand in hand, following Lee and George to a compartment. They passed some of the other girl's in their year level and other year levels, receiving both smirks and jealous looks.
One girl even had the audacity to raise her wand up at Natasha, claiming she had stolen Fred from her, which was quickly diffused by Hermione, who was behind the two. She had rolled her eyes and muttered a quick spell, throwing the girl back into her compartment.
"Thanks Granger," said Fred, and she smiled as she brushed past them to find Ron and Harry. Natasha was being awfully quiet during the walk, and Fred ended up stopping just before they reached their compartment, grabbing Natasha's shoulders and pulling her out from her mind.
"What's wrong Natasha?" Fred asked, as she unconsciously pulled a curl from her hair, twirling it around her finger. It had always been a habit of hers to play with her hair when she was nervous.
"I have a bad feeling Freddie. I just can't shake this feeling that something bad is about to happen," she admitted, the panic in her eyes proving just how nervous she was. Fred sighed and pulled her into a hug.
"Love, I promised you and your father that I would always protect you. I know your gut feelings are always right, but I can tell you right now, I won't let anything bad happen to you," he said sincerely, pecking her lips.
Natasha blushed and duck under Fred's arm so that it was around her shoulders; it was how she felt the most protected around him. Lee was already passed out by the time the two got to the compartment, so they set their latest plan in motion, aided by some products the Weasley twins had created.
"So, we place the toffees in the cakes, AVOID my precious pumpkin pasties, and of course, put the canary creams where the Slytherin's won't hesitate to grab them," Natasha said, repeating the plan one last time.
"Basically. And if that doesn't work, we can always get the fireworks and Colour Me Blind bombs again," George stated, chewing away on his chocolate frog. He pulled the card out and gasped dramatically.
"Freddie I've done it. I got Tina Scamander!" he cheered, showing the card to his brother gleefully. Fred whooped and started to dance around the compartment, whilst George opened the door, yelling to everyone about his latest find.
"Explain how you're sixteen yet you get excited over getting Tina? I got her years ago dumbasses," Natasha said picking at her nails, and it was Fred's turn to gasp.
"You had the American and didn't tell me!?" he dropped onto the seat beside Natasha, faking his death for the billionth time, whilst George started singing, horribly out of tune.
"Oh, she had the card," he warbled.
"She had the card," Fred repeated, almost in a whisper.
"She didn't let us know!" Natasha rolled her eyes at the song, going back to her book on Weird Wizarding Mishaps hoping to get some inspiration for her next prank.
"Oh Natasha, Ta Tash Na Black, you didn't let us know!" George sung the last note so horridly that is woke up Lee, who groaned as he hit his head on the window.
"I fall asleep one time and you guys make a song?!" he complained, slumping his head onto George's shoulder. George raised his eyebrow down at Lee, but he had already fallen asleep again, this time, talking.
"No. No don't give me the pickle. I don't want the pickle. Mother, no pickles," he murmured, and the other three froze for a second before they started howling with laughter.
Harry, who had just walked past, poked his head in at the sound of the three laughing, catching on as Lee continued to ramble on about his pickle experience. "Oh, my Godric you're not going to let him live this down, are you?" he asked, and once again, the twins and Natasha started laughing even harder, bringing tears to their eyes.
"It's just like how Sirius calls Snape Snivellus!" Fred spluttered, and by now, their laughter was contagious, even causing people in the compartments next to them to laugh, though they could not see them.
The Gryffindor's continued to laugh after Harry had left, their faces now streaked with tears and their hair a mess from constantly falling off of the seats. And it just so happened that Natasha's glass shard was in her bag, carrying the sounds of their laughter all the way to Romania, where Charlie was busy signing some last-minute letters.
He could only see the contents of Natasha's bag, but the infectious laughter carried itself to he and the people around him, who started laughing as well.
He really couldn't wait to see them at school.
