I saw a spear fly towards me. I heard Ariel and Slightly shout my name. I was sure that would be the last thing my ears would hear, and my eyes would see before I shut them tight, and expected a sharp pain to enter my chest.

It didn't. In fact, I didn't feel anything. Were you not supposed to feel anything when you die?

Death is weird.

I opened one eye, and saw that I was facing a boy's backside. I recognized his clothes, and, surprisingly, what his backside looked like. I feel like someone's back would always be the first thing I see after a near death experience.

"Peter Pan," I sighed in relief.

"Missed me, darling?" Pan smirked, looking past his shoulder at me.

I smiled at his cockiness.

Pan turned back towards the boys, and held the spear. He turned the spear, so that he was holding it the right way. The way where the pointy part of it aimed at the boys.

"What's the meaning of this?" he asked walking closer to the boys.

The boys stayed silent, most of them looking down, or anywhere but at Pan.

"Nibs, care to explain yourself?" Nibs slowly looked up at Pan.

"I tried to kill her," Nibs said, surprising me with his honesty.

"Why?" Pan asked not taking his eyes away from Nibs.

"None of the boys trust her, Pan. She could kill us if we don't keep our eyes open," Nibs said.

As the boys kept all of their attention on Pan and Nibs, I slowly faced down, and looked at Ariel. She looked up at me with worried eyes.

"Go," I whispered to her, but she shook her head.

"Now," my voice was bit more stern, telling her that there was no way we would argue right now.

I saw her hesitate for a minute before she dove underwater, and swam away. I jumped at a sudden grip on my arm. I looked to my right, and saw Pan.

"Come on. Lets get you out of here," Pan said before pulling me into the forest.

I looked behind us, and saw two Lost boys lead Nibs the opposite way.

Where were they taking him?

"Pan, where are we-"

I was cut off when Pan turned to me out of nowhere, and threw some golden dust at me.

"What the hell?" I coughed out.

"Think lovely thoughts, dear," said Pan.

I looked at him in a skeptical way. "Why?"

Pan rolled his eyes. "Just do it."

I closed my eyes, and the first thought to enter my head was Clyde. Brook. My family. My home. The ocean. The good times I've had. I was overwhelmed with so many loving memories that I didn't notice my feet couldn't feel the hard ground anymore.

"Now, open your eyes," I heard Pan whisper in my ear.

I opened them slowly, and realized that we were pretty high. I gasped, reaching for Pan's shoulders, and shaking my head.

"Uh-uh! No more lovely thoughts! Take me down, Peter! How do I get down?!" I asked frantically as my arms tightened around Pan with every word.

"Calm down, Angel. Relax. Keep your lovely thoughts in your head. Don't let go of them," Pan said.

I took deep breaths before my mind wandered off back to my family and friends. I sighed as I let myself relax, and float through the air. I let an unexpected laugh escape my lips as I enjoyed floating above the ground. Pan laughed with me, and grabbed my hand. Together, we soared through the sky, and I loved the view of the ocean from up here. I saw the beach, which I recognized as 'Cannibal Cove'. My eyes kept wandering off, until they landed on a skull-like rock. I frowned at it. It was a rock I've seen before, but my family would usually tell me to stay away from it. I never knew why.

My eyes were removed from the rock as Pan pulled me closer to the trees. I realized that we've been flying until the sky was dark, and the stars were brightly shinning.

Pan lead me to the tallest tree, and we sat on the highest branch. Fortunately, there weren't any leaves or branches to cover the view above us, so I lied down, and gazed at the stars.

"I could get used to this," I said.

Pan lied down next to me, and we kept quiet. Pan decided to speak.

"Why are you here?" asked Pan.

"Simple. I tried to save a friend, and I ended up getting stuck here in the process," I joked, trying to lighten the mood, or maybe just my mood.

"No, I mean, how did you get legs in the first place? Why did you ever want to walk on land?" Pan inquired.

"A woman gave me three days to make a choice. I either stay in the ocean with my family, or I walk on land until I die. I was planning on staying, but when I tried to save Ariel from you guys, I jumped out of the water without thinking... and that's how I have legs. Now, why did I ever want to gain legs?" I repeated Pan's question.

I shrugged.

"I guess I was just content with the idea of following my brother's footsteps, and do the things he's done. Go to places he's gone," I trailed off.

"Stalk much?" Pan joked making us both laugh.

I sighed. "I don't know. I think it was just one of those childhood stages where you want to be just like your role model, yata yata yata," I trailed off getting less interested in the subject.

"Hey, Pan. Lets not talk about this," I suggested as I turned to my left side so that my back faced Pan.

"What's your favorite color?"

"Pan," I said in a stern voice.

"You said you didn't want to talk about your brother. You never said anything about any other talk," Pan propped himself on his left elbow as he looked at me. "So, what's your favorite color?"

I sighed in surrender, and lied on my back to look at the stars.

"Blue," I answered.

"Like the ocean?" Pan asked.

"Like the sky."

Pan looked up, and looked back at me. "The sky's black."

"You know what I mean, Wizard," I laughed pushing him away.

After that, Pan and I talked some more. Not the intense talk or the talk about your dark pasts, but about our likes and interests. Reasons why we do things, and reasons why we like to do it. I had to admit, it was some pretty nice talk. It was just us getting to know each other beneath the stars.

Ah, crap. Am I living some cheesy chick flick or something now?
