I felt the rays of the sun hit my face, and to be honest, it was a feeling I could get used to. The headache was gone, but my stomach still felt funny.
I heard the sound of curtains opening, and I realized I was inside a tent. I looked at the entrance, and saw a boy walking towards me.
"Good morning, sleepy head," said the boy.
He sat next to me, and I had a clear look at his face.
"W-who are you?" I asked, my eyelids low, and my voice raspy.
The boy's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "what?"
I chuckled at him. "Got you."
Peter closed his eyes, shaking his head, and I noticed him smile.
"What happened?" I asked looking around.
"You passed out last night. You forgot to feed yourself," Pan explained.
I thought back to the time when I first got here. I remembered the Lost boys catching me one night, then they put me in a cage without any food. The next day was when Hook got me out of there, and captured me as well. He threw me in the ocean, Pan rescued me, the Lost boys captured me again, I took a walk to Mermaid Lagoon, and that was when the shadow chased me. In the end, I ended up back at camp, and passed out.
Well, aren't I living the ordinary life?
"Wait a second," Pan looked at me, and waited for me to speak. "Did I throw up last night?"
Pan closed his eyes, chuckling. He looked back up, and I saw a smirk on his face.
"You wake up from a near-death experience, and the first thing you ask is if you threw up?" he looked at me with amused eyes.
"I'm a curious child," I shrugged.
We kept laughing, until a young boy walked in, holding a tray of food. My stomach grumbled instantly.
"Thank you, Tootles," Pan thanked.
Tootles nodded, and walked out. He was a young boy. Younger than any of the Lost Boys I had seen, it seemed.
"Thought you'd be hungry after fainting from hunger," Pan joked.
"Hilarious," I commented, grabbing a small loaf of bread from the tray.
I ate my bread peacefully, until I could feel Pan's stare on me. I tried my best to ignore his gaze on me, but I finally gave up. I could feel myself literally burning under his stare. I slowly looked at Pan.
"Anything wrong?" I asked.
He shook his head. "You just don't share any resemblance with your brother."
I didn't know whether to feel insulted or not from his opinion. I mean, none of the family shared any resemblance to Clyde. Maybe he got his green eyes, black hair and freckles from our ancestors, but none of our relatives had even the slightest same trait that Clyde had. We were all brunettes, and none of us had a single freckle on our faces. You could add that to his list of uniqueness.
"Not surprised," I said. "Clyde was a man of his own looks. None of us share his green eyes, black hair or anything."
Pan nodded as if he understood, but I could still tell by his looks that he was still confused about it. Even I didn't know the reason of this, so I decided not to explain something that I didn't know.
"Hey, Pan," I placed the half eaten bread back on the tray. "How did you know my brother?"
I noticed him create a slight smirk, and I thought that maybe he was remembering the times he spent with Clyde.
"Your brother was a loyal friend," he said.
"Other than Blondie?" I joked, making Pan chuckle.
"Clyde never stayed here for long. It was one of those 'growing up' moments. You know, when a boy is finally old enough to go see the world?"
I smiled, remembering when I was young, and Clyde left for a few years to go see the world. King Triton trusted him, and gave him his own legs to see land. I always wanted to have the same experience when I turned 18. Now, it might never happen, because I was stuck here.
"I remember," I whispered.
Pan kept talking. "He was only passing by, and we let him stay for a few days... A lot happened in a few days..."
I watched him trail off, and decided to mess with him.
"A lot like... forbidden love or..." I trailed off, and knew I had succeeded when I saw Pan's eyes widen.
"Not that! He became a good friend of mine, nothing else, I promise you!"
I laughed at his reaction. "I'm just messing with you. You don't have to get all homophobic about it."
Pan rolled his eyes.
"He was brave and loyal. You should be proud of being related to someone like him," Pan said smiling at me.
I returned a small smile.
"I am," I whispered.
I was confused to see Pan look a bit uneasy or uncomfortable, and I realized that tears were forming in my own eyes. I sniffed, wiping them away as fast as I could.
"Sorry about that," I said barely above a whisper.
I cleared my throat in order to stop whispering. This 'weak girl' look was bothering me. There was an awkward silence between Pan and me. I didn't like it. I broke the silence when I remembered the stories Clyde told me about his adventures in Neverland.
"So, Wizard," Pan faced me. "I heard you make people fly around here."
He smirked, and I smirked back.
"You heard correctly," Pan said as he stood up from my bed, and walked towards me.
My eyes followed him.
"Promise you'll take me flying later?" I asked.
"I guess I have time to give you a tour of the island," he made his way to the tent's entrance to leave, but faced me before leaving.
"I'll take you flying tonight."
