My eyes were shut, and I could barely hear anything. Only the sound of water in my ears. I opened my eyes, ignoring the sea water burn, and I could see Ariel trying to reach me. Her arms were reaching out for me, yet it was too late for her to swim towards me. A net came from above, trapping her. I yelled into the water, hating the sight of my best friend struggling.
The net lifted her, until she was above the surface, and no longer visible. I tried pulling my hands out, but the results were just a bunch of scratches from the chains. As I sank deeper into the ocean, I realized that gaining legs meant losing all of my mermaid abilities. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't see clearly and I had this increasing pain in my ears the deeper I sank.
I'm going to die, aren't I?
I wasn't ready for death. I wasn't ready to say good-bye.
I need more time... I NEED MORE TIME.
As soon as my thoughts lifted more into thinking of what it would be like after I died, everything around me started to lift. I no longer felt the feeling of sinking, but I felt pressure around my waist. It felt as if someone was holding me- no, pulling me. I was too tired to look from being out of breath. I suddenly felt myself lying on wet sand. I tried to open my eyes, but I didn't have the energy, and I could feel myself filled with water. I felt something pounding on my chest, and felt a soft feeling on my lips. As the feeling came, I felt air coming into my mouth. These actions were repeated, until I felt water rushing up from my lungs, into my mouth and out. I started coughing, and was able to open my eyes again. I first saw the cloudy sky above me, and when I looked to the side, the sight was a full shocker.
Peter Pan was kneeling right next to me.
My eyes widened, but they instantly turned into a glare.
Pan noticed my look. "It's alright, you don't have to worry. You're safe, I won't do you any harm."
I kept glaring at him, but said nothing. I didn't believe him either. I weakly stood up, subconsciously placing my hand against my chest. I looked down, but to my horror, the necklace was missing.
"No!" I exclaimed, looking around to see if the necklace was anywhere near.
"What is it? What's wrong?" Pan asked.
"Nothing," I said with a harsh tone.
Knowing that I had already lost it forever, that I had lost a piece of Clyde to the ocean, I walked away.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked after me.
"Away from you, genius," I said without turning to face him. "Just because you saved my life doesn't mean I'm going to stay and chat."
"And why is that?" asked Pan as he stood up.
I turned around to look at him, but I gave him no expressions.
"Sorry, Wizard, but last time I checked, you put me in a cage. I'm not going to let that happen again," and with that, I walked away.
I was able to notice that Killian's ship was already gone, and I knew I had to find that ship.
"Where am I?" I asked myself as I looked around. "I hate land."
I was about to keep walking, but I heard something behind me, near the bushes. My first reaction was to stop. I turned to my shoulder, and looked to my left. I decided to lean down at a slow pace as well, and grabbed a few rocks. I turned around as quick as I could, and threw them at the bushes.
"Ouch!"
"Why don't you step out of the bushes, and fight me like a man?" I yelled at the person hiding in the bushes.
I wasn't very well known for my feminine side back in the ocean.
"Crazy," said the boy who stepped out of the bushes.
I saw a few boys follow after him, and started hearing more leaves and bushes rustling. I looked around, and saw many more boys walk out of their hiding spots near the trunks and bushes.
"Ah, crap," I cursed below my breath as I noticed most of the boys held weapons.
I rolled my eyes, and lifted my hands in surrender. I noticed Felix walk to stand in front of me.
"Anything you'd like to tell us?" asked Felix.
"Take me to your leader," I said with a careless tone.
Felix nodded his head to the side, expecting me to follow his tracks, but I did nothing of the sort until two of the Lost boys pushed me towards him. I had no choice but to follow. Of course, he led me to Pan's camp, and of course, Pan was right there with his back turned to us. He turned around, smirking.
"Look who we have here," he began. "Thought you were running away from me."
"Oh, shut up," I said.
I'm tired, and I don't have time for this. I had to find that pirate ship, and find a way to save Ariel. Once I did that, I could finally get back on track to find something that'll turn me back into a mermaid. Maybe magic could be the solution?
Hey, if magic started it, it could surely finish it.
Pan raised his eyebrows, but the look of surprise soon vanished. He walked towards me.
"You gonna put me in a cage again?" I asked, expectantly.
To my surprise, and maybe to the other boys', Pan shook his head.
"No. You're not a danger to the boys or the island," he said, making me raise an eyebrow.
"You sure about that?"
Pan smirked, "yes, I'm sure."
"So, what happens now?" I asked.
"Now you stay."
"Come again, Wizard?" I raised my eyebrows.
This guy was crazy for thinking that I would ever stay with these crazy kids. Oh, who am I kidding? If I wasn't in this leg situation, I would totally spend a day or two with a bunch of crazy kids. Heck, I'm a crazy kid!
"Oh, come on, we both know you still haven't found a way to get back into the ocean, and we definitely know that you can't go back with your legs. You can't breathe underwater, Angel," Pan reminded.
"Yes, I'm aware," I said, sighing. "So, what do you expect me to do here?"
Pan circled me. "You're free to stay here, until you get your legs back, which, I'm sorry for the negativity, I highly doubt you will."
"What? You don't have faith in me?" I asked, "I'll get my legs. Just you watch."
With that, I walked away, heading towards the forest.
"Can't wait for the entertainment," Pan called after me.
"Shut up!"
