Here we go again. Liberating planets, coming to the rescue, et cetera. Ryloth is under a Separatist Blockade! What a surprise! I'm just shocked! Truly! Skywalker and Ahsoka got us to into the atmosphere and now we're trying to land. They have some really powerful cannons though, and our ships are going down. The clones aboard them... I hope some of them escape. I hate this war. No, I can't hate it. Hate leads to the dark side. I dislike it. A lot."Who's up for a challenge?" Obi-Wan tells me and the men on our ship. I snap back to attention. "We're not getting any reinforcements until those guns are out of commission. Remember also, there are people here. We are here to help them."
"Sir yes sir!" The clones shout. Boil mutters something to Waxer.
"If we're here to free the tail-heads, the least they can do is get out of our way." I bristle.
"Excuse me? Tail-heads?" They look at me.
"Uh, no offense intended, Commander." Boil stammers.
"I'm sure." I glare at them. They're good troopers, but they don't have a lot of respect for the civilians that we are trying to save.
The Crumb Bomber- I told Obi-Wan that was a stupid name for a ship, but here we are- touched down a little ways off from the village, and we began setting up stuff for a temporary base. Obi-Wan addresses Cody and me. "We need to know what the droids have in store for us. Cody! Send your best men to scout ahead. Ellor, go with them. When you come across people, tell them what's going on."
"Will do, sir." Cody gives Obi-Wan a salute. I give him a nod.
"Boil! Waxer! Go with the commander."
"I guess we're the best," Boil says to Waxer.
I roll my eyes. "Come on, boys."
We walk through the town, but there's no sign of inhabitants, droid or Twi'lek. Odd. Waxer and Boil are talking, but I tune into the force. Droids are hard to sense unless they're close to you, as they are not living. The Twi'leks though... I should be able to sense them. There! A blip in the force. Waxer and boil seem to have heard something too. They ready their guns. There's a slight tumbling in an alley, they go to either side, give each other a nod, and rush down it to find... A Twi'lek girl. She looks about six. About how old I was... I want to see how the clones handle this before I step in.
"Ah, it's just a little girl," Boil says dismissively.
"Well, what are we gonna do with her?"
"Woah woah woah woah. Why do we have to do anything? We've got a mission to finish."
"We have to do something. I say we take her with us."
"I agree," I say cutting in. "She's a little girl who's parents are gone. Her family and people are captured or dead. We aren't leaving her here." I shoulder past them. And address the young Twi'lek. "We're not going to hurt you. We're here to help." She rushes behind me and peeks out at the men. I can feel her sadness and fear. Fear of... I whip around. Probe droid. "Hide!" I hiss at them. The droid goes past us. I glance at the Twi'lek girl. She reminds me of myself so much, I can't hold back my emotions much longer. I address the clones. "You're scaring her. She probably thinks you're droids. Take off your helmets." They glance at each other and oblige. She calms down some.
"That was a recon unit. We have to move."
"We are not leaving her here."
"She looks half-starved." Boil notes. He hands her a ration bar. She takes it still looking at them suspiciously. She eats it in a few quick bites.
