Well, we got Satine to Coruscant with only a few hitches. Now I stood with Obi-Wan watching the senate do it's thing.

Satine says that Mandalore can handle Death Watch by itself, and that they would attempt a nonviolent solution. I believe a nonviolent solution won't work, but the republic should not stick its nose into neutral system's affairs. A holovideo of a Mandalorian government official pops up, claiming that Mandalore needs the republic. Satine says that the man in the hologram wouldn't say that, and that something isn't right. When she asks to speak with him, the Chancellor informs us that he passed this morning from a Death Watch bombing. I narrow my eyes, that seems a little too convenient. Palpatine says that the republic should step in, Satine disagrees, the meeting ends and they will vote on this next time. The wheels of democracy certainly turn slow.

This entire time, anxiety had been radiating off of my General making it slightly hard to think. "I need to speak with her," he mumbles to me, before taking off. I follow him, and we run up to the Duchess.

"Duchess! Satine, wait!" He grabs her arm. A second later her guards pull their staffs on him. Awful reaction time, guys. Satine waves their staffs down.

"I just heard what happened in the Senate," Obi-Wan says worriedly.

"You're sweet to be concerned, but I promise I'll be alright," she says softly.

"I am concerned. We're friends, are we not?" he asks. Slightly more if you ask me, but no one ever does.

"Yes, friends. Nothing more," she says, as if to remind herself. I let out a disparaging cough at that.

"Satine, as your friend, I don't think you should make any decisions in this state of mind!" OOOOH bad move.

"State of mind?! And what state of mind would that be?!"

I decide to step in. "Duchess, what Obi-Wan means is that obviously you are not calm and rational right now. Which is in no way your fault! You are obviously angry and upset, and with good reason. I agree with you that the Republic shouldn't stick their noses where they aren't welcome."

Satine seems somewhat placated by my words. "Thank you, Padawan," she says. She's acted wary around me since the whole killing Merrick without a second thought thing. She's wrong, of course, I did have second thoughts and I absolutely hate killing sentient beings, but I had to protect everyone on the ship.

Obi-Wan feels the need to add, "Rushing in like this, it's, foolhardy." Honestly General. You are so, so, so bad at this.

Satine's temper flares up again. "Ironic words from a man who spends his days running hither and yon, wielding his lightsaber with deadly force as if, on a crusade! Why should I listen to someone who so frequently relies on violence? In my opinion, you're the one who's foolhardy!" She turns away and walks toward an awaiting speeder.

I nudge Obi-Wan's side. "You know, she's got a point," I tell him. He sighs and stares out at her speeder getting farther and farther away from us. "Come on. The council requires our presence, they want a report."

"Brilliant." We walk off to another speeder to head to the Jedi Council.

Once we finish debriefing the council, Obi-Wan suggests we meditate together, which I accept. We head to a private room.

There I cross my legs, close my eyes, and strengthen my mental walls around my most private thoughts. Meditating with someone else, especially someone you're close to, can give them access to your emotions and thoughts.
