the selection

chapter 2-first day

Cypress had finished her shift at the seamstress shop as they got off early because today was the day that they were gonna choose the people in the selection. Cypress was well not really that nervous considering that her chances of getting in are very slim and she could have sworn the entire province had came in on one day to put in their application. The entire province had millions of women who signed up and well if she didn't get in well it wouldn't be bad since, mom and dad both a promotion at their job and Beatrice was around the age she could start working. 

The entire family had herded around the tiny TV to watch the report. Basically everyone could watch the report though not everyone had a TV but lots of eights and sevens all could go to a bar or a church to watch the report. The Ramirez household were sixes, but lived more like fives. 

"Hey honey I never got to ask how was the drop off"

"long, I swear all the women came in on one day to drop off their forms"

"ok honey"

"hey, Cypress you're gonna win and become a princess"

"yea I don't know, there was this one girl who had so much damn makeup on she looked like a clown, I don't know maybe the prince likes that"

Everyone chuckled when Gavril came on. Gavril Fayade was a legend. He hosted King Maxon's selection and almost got the chance to host King Clarkson's selection. 

"Hello Illea, well today everyone will be watching! The first ten minutes of the report will be about updates then the rest will be about the selection"

King Maxon did updates and once he finished he sat back down as Gavril talked with the royal family about the selected. 

"Ok, lets show you guys who are the selected!"

"Isabelle Stevens of Kent" She had strawberry blond hair with bright blue eyes and was smiling brightly

"Amy Beckett of Belcourt" She had brown hair with amber colored eyes and was absolutely stunning.

"Nixie Cadwell of Lakedon" She had brown hair with chocolate brown eyes

Gavril continued to list down the selected as he announced the last person

"Cypress Ramirez of Carolina"

"prince Adrian how do you feel about these women"

"well that you guys are all unlucky to have entered the selection"

"Queen America"

"like what Queen Amberly had said, this is the last night you will be normal girl, no matter if you win or loose, your entire life will change, I know mine did"

Cypress had heard her name and thought she was dreaming but no, a picture of me showed up, I have raven black hair with tan caramel skin, and bright aqua blue eyes. I was the only person who didn't smile and I could have sworn that I saw prince Adrian smile a little. This was all happening in my head, as I saw everyone shock and also saw a bowl of popcorn fly into the air as Beatrice sang. "Cypress and Adrian sitting in a tree" "Cypress is gonna live in the palace and become a princess"

Cypress was still shocked beyond words as her mind still couldn't comprehend that she would leave her family and go to the palace and compete for the prince's heart. Cypress heard the phone ring as her mother picked it up and gave it to her. Over the next few days, she got death threats from other girls who were jealous that she got in, she had officials come and swarm into her house. Her best friend Michelle came over to congratulate her. She didn't get selected but she was happy that she got a chance to get a better life than what she was born into. One of the officals came in to give her some nutrition pills since she was a six and well they don't always have access to food or health. Another official came to help the family know what to pack and stuff. Guards were posted outside of their house to make sure that no one would come to sabotage or hurt her or her family.
