After taking pictures of the candy given by Damien, Mew and Gulf sat by the edge of the pier. They munched on the candy, taking in the view of the setting sun.

Gulf watches the sea, lost in the rhythmic percussion of waves on sand. His eyes are steady to the horizon, face aglow with the last orange rays before twilight beckons the stars. His lips bear the semblance of a smile, just enough to show that he is enjoying his thoughts, whatever they may be.

Mew moves closer so that he feels his presence, yet stays quiet, allowing him to stay lost in the moment a while longer.

Propping himself up, Gulf turns towards Mew, sitting cross-legged.

"Today was so fun. Thank you Mew."

The words escaped from his mouth in a soft whisper. Yet it was full of unspoken emotions, unspoken understandings, unspoken thoughts.

Mew turned around, sitting cross-legged in front of Gulf.

"No need to thank me Gulf. Today was fun for me too."

Mew shifted forward, his knees touching Gulf's. Leaning forward, Mew's forehead touched Gulf's. Closing his eyes, Mew whispered.

"And I hope it is not the last."

"I will make sure it won't be."

Mew's eyes opened, Gulf's eyes capturing his vision.

They are bright and liquid warm, sprinkled with light brown specks, framed by beautiful thick lashes.

In those hazelnut hues was his soul, not in the way of those cheesy romance novels, so obsessed with lust, but with the kind of beauty that expands a moment into a personal eternity, a heaven you wish to be a part of.

And Mew's heart pounded hard against his chest at the realisation that he was part of that heaven.

In that moment, it dawned upon Mew how much he loves Gulf.

He doesn't know when it happened. How it happened. But none of that mattered now. All that mattered now was loving Gulf, cherishing him, supporting him.

Mew's eyes softened, the vivid emerald green softly melting into a milky blue.

Leaning forward, he captured Gulf's lips gently.

The kiss was soft and gentle and chaste and maybe there's no fireworks or sparks, but it's better than that – it's a wave of warmth that fills both of them up, spilling out from their heart and the warmth of each other's lips on theirs and rushing to every corner of their body: the cracks in between their toes, the crooks of their elbows, the tips of their ears. Every inch of them is saturated with love. Their love.

Parting from the kiss, they smiled softly at each other.

No words were said, but they knew what each other were thinking.

I love you.

With intertwined hands, they faced the setting sun, watching the sun slip into the ocean in a fleeting, beautiful flash of green.
