"But-But how?" Gulf couldn't believe it.

Even though Mew was worried about Gulf, he knew he had to reveal the truth.

"When Tae tried to search the underworld for Diablo's identity, he found nothing. It was like Diablo just appeared out of thin air. Which was also impossible because it does not explain how he was able to have access to such deep connections in the underworld.

Tae decided to take a blood sample from Diablo. With your family having once been the strongest in the underworld, Seo Joon would have records of all the players in the underworld.

With Seo Joon's permission, Tae accessed these records and found a match.

Hu.

Digging deeper, Tae found out that Hu had undergone plastic surgery a year ago. Transforming his face, Hu became a new person, adopting the alias Diablo."

"Hello Gulf. It has been one year since I saw you." Hu smirked.

"But why? Why-"

"Ha you don't deserve to ask why." Hu scoffed.

"But since you asked, IT IS BECAUSE YOU FAILED TO SAVE YOUR FATHER!" Hu shouted, lunging at Gulf. Held back by the chains, Hu growled.

Noticing Gulf tremble slightly, Mew wrapped his arm around Gulf's waist protectively.

Hu sucked in a breath. Collecting himself, he smiled again.

"Your father and I were the best of friends. We grew up in the streets. Fought alongside each other. Trusted each other with our lives.

Your father is the kind of man that is a natural born leader. A king. He gained the respect of the entire underworld. I supported him unconditionally, getting rid of any pests. I didn't mind getting my hands dirty if it meant protecting his empire.

When your father introduced his wife to me, I felt my heart break. Even though I was smiling, I felt myself dying on the inside.

I loved him. His fiery energy, his powerful aura, his kind heart, his warm personality, always putting his people first over himself. I loved all of him.

Nevertheless, seeing his smile, I vowed to protect his happiness.

Yet, four years ago, all those were gone.

BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T FUCKING SAVE HIM!

WHAT WAS THE USE OF BRINGING YOU IN IF YOU COULDN'T SAVE HIM!

HE RESCUED YOU FROM THE DEPTHS OF HELL BUT YOU SENT HIM THERE!

He was my everything.

When he died, I died alongside him.

I had nothing to live for.

Thus, I had nothing to lose when I began my plan to kill you.

I slowly accumulated power and wealth. After all, I needed enough resources to be able to stop anyone, including your brothers, from hindering my plan.

I went to South Korea last year to change my appearance. If Seo Joon learnt that I was meeting hitmen and hiring an army, he would start questioning. My plan would have been exposed. With the face of Diablo, I can go wherever I want undetected.

Adopting an alias, I was able to purchase Shadow without anyone knowing it was me.

I was going to use that technology to ensure that you would be killed.

But I learnt that you had a boyfriend!

I figured. Since you couldn't save my love, why not I kill your's? Then you would know how helpless I felt!

You would experience the pain, torture, anguish. You would live with the nightmare of your love dying in front of your eyes. You would lose your chance at spending the rest of your lives together and being happy with him!

So, I made it easy for Mew to set up an appointment with Shadow.

That night, I hacked Seo Joon's phone and sent you that message, saying that Mew was in danger. I wanted you to witness the moment I shot him.

When you came to the scene, I pretended that I was going to shoot you. I knew that Mew would rush in and take the hit.

And I wasn't wrong.

When he slumped to the ground, the pure horror on your face made all of my efforts so worth it." Hu gazed into nothing, dazed. A smile painted his face, relishing the image of Gulf's helplessness at the warehouse.

"I just regret not being able to shoot and kill the both of you before I was caught." Hu hissed.
