Waking up to Chopper licking his face, Gulf giggled.
"My handy alarm clock." Gulf patted Chopper's head.
Chopper tilted his head slightly, as if wondering what Gulf was talking about.
"Come on Chopper. Let's go. I should go and wash up." After making the bed, Gulf went to the washroom that was just beside.
He smiled at the post-it on the mirror.
It had a message and an arrow drawn on it, pointing to what seems like a new set of toiletries and clothes.
This is for you to use baby. If you need anything else, just call me. I will be downstairs preparing your breakfast.
Love, your Mew
Breakfast prepared by Mew?!
Gulf quickly got ready and ran down the stairs, bursting with anticipation.
"Mew! You should flip it quickly! Look at you! Now some of it is burnt. What is the use of having muscles if you can't even flip it quickly."
"But Avia, it is so hard! And my muscles are not used for cooking."
Hearing an unfamiliar voice, Gulf realised that there is someone else besides Mew.
As he approached the kitchen quietly, Gulf saw Mew and an elderly woman standing side by side in front of the stove, cooking something that smells absolutely heavenly.
"What about Bright? He has muscles but is still good at cooking. Why? Because he makes an effort to come and learn from me." The elderly woman shook her head, chiding Mew.
The elderly woman smacked Mew with the wooden spoon that she held in her hand. "Unlike you naughty rascal, always giving excuses then running off."
Gulf stifled his laughter, sitting at the kitchen counter quietly. This exchange is too fun to miss out.
"Well aren't I learning from you now?" Mew whined, continuing to flip what Gulf presumes is pancakes.
"You only decided to learn because you want to cook for your boyfriend. If not for him, I bet you won't even step a single foot into the kitchen. Even if I chase you with my wooden spoon!"
The elderly woman turned towards Mew and waved her wooden spoon threateningly in Mew's face.
"And you should already be grateful that I only bought wooden spoons and not metal ones."
"True. And you know me so well Avia. It is also true that I am only learning for my Gulfie." Mew turned towards her and smiled giddily.
"You are so whipped." The elderly woman laughed before focusing on the pancakes again.
"Hurry up and put the pancakes into the bowl, they are done already. Concentrate!"
The elderly woman smacked Mew again with the wooden spoon, watching Mew like a hawk as he cautiously put the pancake cereal into the bowl.
Gulf couldn't help but let out a chuckle. It is so fun to see Mew being bossed around by the elderly woman despite Mew being several heads taller.
"Oh Gulf, you are awake!" Mew turned around, smiling brightly at Gulf.
Gulf smiled back at the both of them. Looking at her, he realised she is the elderly woman he saw in the photo beside Mew's bed.
"Good morning Mew. And good morning ma'am," Gulf got up and wai'ed her.
"Good morning Gulf, and call me Avia, like my two rascals Mew and Bright do." She smiled tenderly at Gulf, gesturing him to sit beside her at the kitchen counter.
"Okay Avia." Gulf smiled, gingerly sitting beside her.
"What toppings do you want with your pancake cereal Gulfie?" Mew asked as he set a big bowl of pancake cereal in front of Gulf.
"Whipped cream and sprinkles!" Gulf said immediately, fidgeting in his seat. He can't wait to eat.
Looking around, Gulf realised that that there is no food in front of Avia.
"Avia, did you eat breakfast yet?" Gulf looked at her worriedly.
"Yes I did. I live above Mew and beside Bright. Bright is Mew's brother. He came to deliver porridge for me." Avia patted his hand, assuring Gulf.
"That is good. Mew, you should also buy breakfast for her next time." Gulf chided Mew, waving his finger.
Mew nodded, taking Gulf's hand and kissing it.
"I promise. Now eat your pancake cereal. It is done." Mew proudly said, placing the bowl in front of Gulf.
Gulf was about to scold Mew for promising him and not promising Avia but he stopped when he saw the pancake cereal.
Gulf couldn't stop himself from eating the pancake cereal. It tastes so damn good! The softness of the pancakes, the sweetness of the sprinkles with the pancake, the fluffiness of the whipped cream and pancakes—
"Thank you so much Avia and Mew! It tastes so good! I will fight anyone who disagrees with me."
Avia and Mew laughed at Gulf's response to their pancakes. Avia patted Gulf's back. "Slow down, no need to rush. There is still plenty."
"Okay Avia." Gulf smiled happily at her before tucking into the pancake cereal again.
After Mew and Gulf ate finish, Gulf insisted to wash the bowls and utensils.
"You two cooked for me so it is only fair that I wash the bowls and utensils." Gulf huffed, shooing them out before they could protest more.
