Sobs broke through the desolated room, recoiling off the pristine white walls.

"Please..."

The man begged, drenched in nervous sweat. He looked around the room wildly, his pupils dilated.

"Look at who we have here." The incarnation of the devil himself entered the room. Jet-black hair swept back, not concealing his piercing gaze. The black button-down and pants though simple, was unable to hide his immense aura. Seeing Mew aka the man feared by all, the man trembled, hyperventilating.

Mew beckoned for his right-hand man, Bright Vachirawit Chivaaree, to pass him the dagger on the glass table that was filled with other tools. Rolling up his sleeves, Mew smirked, looking down at the man chained to the stainless-steel chair.

Twirling the dagger in between his fingers, Mew circled around the man.

The man is Lex Sukpraserit. He was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), responsible for MSJ Corporation's cash flow and financial success. He was with the company since the start, right from the hardships to the success they had today. However, he grew proud. He embezzled the company's finances to fund his own hedonistic activities. He abused his power, shutting down any financial reports of irregularities from his subordinates. Even worse, he sold company secrets.

MSJ Corporation is not just any big company. It was Mew's company. Mew Suppasit Jongcheveevat, the most powerful man in Thailand. Worldwide, conglomerates, presidents and monarchies alike have to take into consideration his views. With a snap of his fingers, you could find yourself dead in a matter of seconds.

It was no surprise that Mew was going to find out Lex's betrayal sooner or later. His Phd brain is not for nothing.

When Mew noticed the irregularities and found evidence of Lex's betrayal, he immediately called for Bright to bring Lex to the Quod. The Quod is where Mew handles all those who crossed him. With no mercy.

"Lex, you were in a good position you know. You did your work well, and I respected your hard work, rewarding you with high paycheck, benefits and bonuses each year."

"Sir, please! I didn't mean to do it! I –"

Before Lex could finish, Mew swiftly stabbed his right thigh, leaving the dagger. No fun getting blood on my walls. The blood of this vermin would leave a smell. I don't need a reminder of him.

Lex chocked back a sob.

"You repaid my gift with betrayal."

Shaking his head, Mew took another dagger and stabbed his left thigh.

"When you enter MSJ Corporation, you are vowing absolute loyalty. Absolute. Loyalty. Nonetheless, not only did you BREAK that vow, you harmed us."

Lex shook his head fervently, trying to earn Mew's forgiveness.

But once you cross me, you should know the consequences.

"For your years of service, I shall give you a rare gift. The opportunity to be the first person at the receiving end of pain from my favourite tool. This tool was a special collaboration between my engineer Tae and my doctor Thanit. Do you see the small teeth on this razor blade, they are inverted to dig into flesh and rip it when pulled out."

Fear flashed across Lex's eyes.

"And do you see how thin the blade is? Despite how thin it is, it can sever even your thickest blood vessel, the artery. Beautiful, isn't it? Fun fact, it can sever even the arteries close to the heart, even though those arteries have the thickest walls."

Lex's face paled in an instant. His expressions are fun to watch.

But I am getting bored.

"I don't see any point in keeping someone who breaks the vow."

Lex pleaded for mercy, his chains clinking as he trembled.

Seeing Mew hand Bright the tool, Lex let out a small sigh. He probably thought Mew relented. Well, he thought wrong.

"Finish him."

Bright nodded, calling in for two more of Mew's men, Max Nattapol Diloknawarit and Tul Pakorn Thanasrivanitchai, to finish the job. Upon hearing this, Lex thrashed wildly in his seat.

Not sparing him a glance, Mew walked out of the room, emotionless. "Please! No—" His screams were cut off soon after.

"Mew, do you want to go back to your house nearby?" Bright asked as they crossed the Styx.

The Styx is a glass bridge held by charcoal black chains. Only digitally registered footprints could cross the bridge. If not, what lies in wait is a pool of ph 1 acid and a hell of pain. The Styx is the bridge to the entrance of the Quod (Mew's den), and the Albus (rooms where Mew 'host' those who crossed him).

"No. Bring me back to my penthouse. I want to see Chopper." Scanning his iris, the bulletproof doors parted. They walked along the hallway, exiting the Quod.
