"Mew?"

Gulf felt Mew's weight shift from being on him to the floor.

He lifted Mew onto himself, patting Mew's back, wondering what is wrong.

Only to feel something wet.

Bringing his hand up, he only saw crimson red.

What the fuck?

Gulf couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't want to anyway.

He couldn't breath, it felt as if someone was choking him. His heart was racing and all he wanted to do was curl up into a ball and yell. A choked cry forced itself up his throat, and he felt a drop run down his cheek.

"Looks like my PhD brain is finally put to good use huh." Mew laughed, swallowing down the blood that he nearly threw up. He didn't want to worry Gulf.

"You still have time for jokes?! Fuck you Mew!"

"Why ask for it now? You should have asked for it earlier."

Mew tried to play it cool but he could tell he was going to slip into unconsciousness soon.

Max tapped Gulf's shoulder, pointing him to a black van.

"I will drive." Max said worriedly.

Without any hesitation, Gulf bridal-carried Mew, placing Mew in the back seat while he sat down on the floor of the van.

Max hit the pedal, driving out of the suburbs and towards the city.

Tul sat beside him, contacting Bright and Seo Joon.

"I always thought I would be the one to bridal-carry you," Mew laughed weakly.

A sprout of blood comes out, staining his lips.

"Don't talk anymore!" Gulf glared at Mew.

Gulf tried to feel angry at Mew for being so stupid but his shaking hands and tears betrayed him.

Mew simpered at Gulf's teary face.

He brushed away the tears, ignoring the intense pain.

"Max, drive to the pet clinic. It will be safer to treat Mew there. We got a basement for such... emergencies." Gulf explained shakily.

Max nodded. "Noted. Don't worry."

"M-Mew, we are going to reach soon. I-Fuck." Gulf raked his hair nervously with one hand. The other hand pressed a shirt onto the wound in hopes of preventing the bleeding from worsening.

"Look at you, tears running down your face." Mew chuckled.

"You don't look any better." Gulf scowled. His bottom lip shivers.

"I will be fine Gulf." Mew smiled softly.

"You better fucking be alright! So that you can be ready for Avia's beating! Cause I will buy her a boxful of metal spoons." Gulf growled.

Gulf lowered his head, not wanting to look at Mew.

"Scout's honour." Mew wrapped his pinkie finger around Gulf's.

Gulf stared at the intertwined fingers. Looking up at Mew, Gulf had an unreadable expression on his face.

"You owe me a wish. I am using that wish now."

"What wish?" Mew feigned ignorance. Looking everywhere but Gulf.

"Mew..."

"Okay okay haha. What is your wish?" Mew caressed Gulf's hand with his thumb.

Gulf looked down at their hands.

"I want you to live through this."

"I will. I am a man of my word, aren't I?" Mew's voice trailed off, his eyes closing.

"Hey, don't sleep. You drink so much coffee, how could you sleep?" Gulf whispered softly.

Even though Mew is wearing black, Gulf could still see the stain growing.

All Gulf could see is Mew, literally. Everything else falls away.

He no longer hears the cars speeding down the street. He can't notice the cold rain or even calls Seo Joon. Though Seo Joon would have known by now.

Closing his eyes, Gulf lets out a shaky sigh.

He didn't remember being that scared in his life. And that was just the beginning. That idea only made it worse. If that was even possible.

He never felt so helpless.
