Gulf took deep breaths. Surprisingly, he felt calm.

He can't deny that Hu's betrayal hurts. After all, Hu was a father figure for him and his brothers after their father's death. This would have the birth of another demon for Gulf.

But he doesn't want his demons to burden Mew.

The desire to protect Mew gave him strength to face his fears. That being with Mew gives him the courage to stand firm when facing his demons.

Perhaps this is what his brothers always talk about.

You know that person is the one when you want to become a better person for them.

When you love someone so much that you think that they deserve the best. Wanting the best for that person, you strive to be that best. That person feeling the same way as well.

Growing together, facing difficulties together, experiencing life together.

Completing their future together.

Gulf never understood it but he does now.

I would have to confront Hu sooner or later. Might as well be now.

Gulf was about to step forward when Mew held his wrist.

"Hey, you don't have to do this," Mew said softly.

Gulf shook his head, gently prying Mew's hand off his wrist.

"It is okay. I have you with me. Don't I?" Gulf smiled tenderly.

Mew nodded, pecking Gulf on the forehead before stepping back.

This is Gulf's fight.

Gulf stood in front of Hu, Hu looking back with pure venom.

"It is true. I felt helpless. Alone.

It is true. My demons controlled me.

It is true. If I lost Mew, I would have died. Emotionally.

But my friends and family helped me. I wasn't alone.

Mew gave me the strength to conquer my demons.

And I wouldn't allow myself to lose Mew. I wouldn't let him."

Mew was so proud of Gulf. For overcoming the chains that weighed down on him for four years.

After Gulf spoke finish, he dug his nails into his palm.

The whole situation was taking a mental toll on him.

He nearly collapsed after he finished talking. Not wanting to give Hu the satisfaction of seeing him weak, he inflicted a little pain to steady himself.

Mew followed Gulf out of the Albus. Once Gulf stepped out and was not within Hu's sight, he slumped down against the wall.

Mew crouched down and gently hugged Gulf.

Gulf sobbed silently.

Mew rubbed Gulf's back in a comforting manner.

This went on for a while until Gulf's cries receded into small hiccups sounds.

Gulf made grabby hands, Mew simpering.

Lifting Gulf up with ease, he carried Gulf.

Gulf clung to him like a koala, wrapping his legs around Mew's torso.

Nuzzling his face into the crook of Mew's neck, Gulf mumbled. "I want pork basil rice, pho, pizza and KFC."

Mew chuckled. Adorable.

"What about dessert?" Mew asked, patting Gulf's hair.

"I want Avia's blueberry cupcakes, macaroons, oreo cheesecake, cotton candy ice cream, red velvet cake and caramel popcorn milkshake."

Entering the room where Gulf's brothers are, Mew gently sat Gulf in one of the chairs.

Crouching down in front of Gulf, he gently kissed Gulf's forehead and hand.

"Your wish is my command." Mew winked.

"Let me wrap this up and I would join you shortly with all the food you listed."

Gulf wouldn't have wanted to leave Mew but he knew that it was for the best. He needed to rest.

"How about we bring Gulf to your house? He would have the company of Avia and Chopper. You can wrap up the stuff here." Lin Yi suggested.

Getting a nod from Gulf, Mew agreed.

"That helps a lot. Thank you."

Seeing the brothers off, Mew was about to head back inside when Seo Joon patted his back.

"We wouldn't have been able to deal with him. The wound is too fresh. Thank you so much."

---

"I bet that brat collapsed. Didn't he?" Hu smirked.

Mew could feel his anger rising up.

You wouldn't be smiling for long.

Mew circled Hu slowly, a predator before its prey.

"Do you remember how Gulf's father died?"

Hu scoffed, spitting on the floor.

"I fucking remember it. Everyday. That brat wasn't able to save him."

With his left hand holding his right elbow, Mew waved his right arm side to side, only his right index finger sticking out.

"No no no. Think again. What was the root cause?"

Seeing Hu silent, Mew smiled.

"He was shot. And the bullet he got shot with was D24.

Does that ring a bell?"

Hu's face turned ashen.

Making sure that he is a safe distance from Hu (wouldn't want Gulf to scold me), Mew bent down. Eye level with Hu, Mew hissed.

"You were the one who brought D24 into Thailand.

Your weapons were capable of rocking Thailand's underworld. Gulf's father would sooner or later have checked them out.

Your fucking greed is what cost Gulf's father his life.

Your cowardice caused you to deny the truth. Twisting the truth that you tried so hard not to remember.

Your warped-up mind convinced yourself that the fault lies with Gulf. When it was all on you."

Standing back up, Mew took one of the knives and stabbed Hu's stomach.

Mew continued, his voice laced with disgust.

"The wise try to adjust themselves to the truth, while fools try to adjust the truth themselves.

Looks like you are one of those fools."

"No. NO! YOU ARE LYING! LYING!"

Hu let out a bloodcurdling scream. Trashing wildly, his chair fell onto the floor. His face turned red, veins popping out.

Mew looked at Hu coldly. "Whatever helps you sleep at night. Though you would be having a painful, torturous experience before sleeping forever."

Not sparing another glance, Mew walked out of the room.

"You know what to do." Mew nodded to Tae who stood outside the door.

"Yes boss."
