i was woken up by my alarm and got out of bed energized. it was friday! so far my week has been great at work. one more last day to bust out, and i'm free for the weekend.

i put on my outfit for the day which consisted of black business pants, a white turtle neck, and heeled boots. *

i straightened my hair quickly, and did my makeup.

i tied my hair back into a messy low pony to keep it out of my face for now.

i put on my diamond earrings and my necklaces. i sprayed my perfume on me, and put my tan over coat on since it was quite cold outside.

i left my penthouse, and drove to my iced coffee place. i got mine, and drove to work.

i greeted my fellow co-workers and my boss, and sat down my stuff on my desk. i brought out my computer and viewed my clients reservations.

i plugged my ipad in to ensure a full battery.

i sipped on my iced coffee frequently, when kasey, a lady who works at the front office walked in.

"lexy, you have a visitor. they do not have a appointment, but insist they need to see you."

"let them in, i have a hour till my first clients."

kasey nodded, and left. she appeared back with the visitor by her side.

i glance back up from my computer, and in utter shock, i see sam.

"what brings you in?" i ask keeping professional.

"i- i can't believe it is you. i am so sorry, i tried and tried to get in contact with you."

"you didn't try hard enough i guess. now what brings you in?"

"you. i wanted to see you again. i can't believe we met again."

"yeah crazy." i say sarcastically while sipping my iced coffee.

"lexy. what did i do? i tried. that's all i did."

"there were ways you could have seen me, although i couldn't see you even if i tried."

"what do you mean?"

"i got homeschooled and couldn't be let out of the house. by the time i could have come out you were at college. no number, no social media. i couldn't get to you. what happened is over. you are one of my clients for christs sake."

"lexy, my parents went psycho. i couldn't do anything either."

"okay. now that we have closure, please exit my office. book a appointment next time with your PARTNER to come see me. i am a relationship specialist."

sam gets up looking miserable. i missed him too, although i could lose my job. typically i shouldn't even have him as a client. nobody with any relationship to you should be your client. if we EVER had a relationship outside of my office, i could lose my job.

i sigh and look through my papers. i need to make a decision. i need to drop sam and vanessa from being my clients. it is unprofessional, and i do not want to lose my job. your clients should not have any relationship with you outside of the practice.

i lift up my phone and call in my boss.

she told me i was clear to come meet in her office, so i did so.

"hi, can i speak to you about dropping some clients? maybe handing them over to kailey?"

"we can arrange that. what clients, and why?"

"well my client sam used to be my old boyfriend."

"oh i see. good thing you caught that quick. i am very proud of you for making this decision, the right decision."
