Reeve was frozen, like a deer in headlights.

She feared Reeve was going to faint because her skin had gone deathly pale, almost in contrast to those silver eyes. She looked at Cassius, he was grinning the brightest grin she'd ever seen as he waited for Reeve's response.

Slowly, tears trickled down Reeve's cheeks and then the happiest expression took over her features. It only lasted a moment, though, because then Reeve's expression became murderous and Cassius' grin quickly dropped.

"Uh-oh." He muttered.

"I'm gonna kill you!" Reeve half-sobbed, half-screamed, and then lunged for Cassius.

Cassius screeched at the top of his lungs and took off in the blink of an eye. She watched, utterly confused and slightly concerned, as Cassius and Reeve darted around everyone. Cassius was trying to stay ahead, cutting corners, but Reeve was quicker and tackled him. They landed in a heap of tangled flesh, kicking and grunting with each other.

They rolled, once, twice, and everyone around them was laughing hysterically. She couldn't even see through the tears of laughter that rolled down her cheeks. She had never seen anything so entertaining and it was quite obvious they were only playing.

Eventually, Cassius held his hands up in surrender, "Okay, okay, I'm really sorry about not telling you. I really wanted to but then I wanted to see your reaction in person and yeah, so that's how that went." He blurted, trying to save himself.

Reeve stared down at him cooly before finally cracking a smile, "Alright, I forgive you. Only if you let me meet him before we run tomorrow night."

"Deal." Cassius grinned.

They got off of each other, brushed off grass blades from their clothes, and then shook hands. Reeve slapped the back of his head for good measure and then headed off to finish greeting everyone. Cassius grumbled under his breath, rubbing the back of his head, and then he was tackled to the ground by six wolves.

"Don't worry, it's their thing," Someone said from behind her and she spun to face the Gamma, he smiled, "I'm Fox."

She rose an eyebrow, "A fox in a wolf pack?"

Fox's expression deadpanned, "Very funny."

Suddenly, someone came up behind Fox and slapped his shoulder. He only grunted and rolled his eyes at the young girl.

"I'm Mikica!" The girl said whilst elbowing Fox, "Don't mind this brute. He's harmless."

Fox glared at Mikica.

"I'm really happy to meet you, Valencia," Mikica continued, "It's not every day I get to spend time with girls, especially badass ones like yourself, and I think you are really amazing for doing what you did."

She smiled, "Thanks, I guess?" She realized Mikica was straightforward with her words and some part of her admired that.

"Oh, hey," Mikica grabbed her hand, tugging, "Come meet my wolves!"

"How did you meet them?" She asked, curiously.

"I raised them myself after I found them in a snowstorm. It was an accident really, I had gotten lost on my way back from town and stumbled upon them. Their mother had been shot and died, I felt so bad for them."

She nodded, "That's interesting, I've never heard of someone raising wolve pups without the mother. That must have been hard for them."

Mikica smiled, "They had me."
