twenty twenty...

it has been a tough year in renjun's part.

he got kicked out of his parent's house when they realized renjun was gay.

he started to lose his childhood friends who thought he was too "tight" to be with them.

he started to feel so insecure about himself.

and he started the one thing he never wanted to do again.

he took one year of stopping himself from cutting himself for it to go to waste when everything started to get tough again.

he's ashamed, considering he had to start his life from the bottom.

he had to move to a new apartment,

find jobs to stabilize his finances,

accept himself for who he is,

and start to see the good things in life in the span of one year.

but if it wasn't for lee donghyuck, one of his childhood friends to stay beside him, renjun thinks he wouldn't be here right now

beside him and living the happiest moment in his life.

"penny for your thoughts, love?"

donghyuck stands up from the ground and walks behind renjun. he kneels down and wraps his arms around his waist, digging his face in his neck before leaving wet kisses all over it.

he feels the older's chest vibrate from chuckling and he  looks up at the silver haired boy, leaving a chaste kiss on his lips before taking a seat back down beside him.

their backs were on opposite sides this time, and donghyuck plants his hand on the side of renjun's thighs, pulling him closer to the chinese who shakes his head.

"hyuck..." renjun trails off, looking at the tanned male in front of him with eyes full of adoration. "i love you," he says and donghyuck snickers.

"i already know that junnie."

renjun smiles at donghyuck's statement, leaning forward to his chest and placing his head on the younger's shoulder.

donghyuck immediately retracts his hand from the ground, circling it around renjun's waist to pull him in closer.

he feels renjun leave a sigh of relief, circling his arms around donghyuck's waist.

the younger chuckles, taking his free hand up to brush the older's hair out of his face and he leaves a peck on his cheek.

"if you're thinking about the first half of the year, don't."

donghyuck states and renjun shakes his head before digging his face in the younger's neck, inhaling his scent and feeling a sense of comfort in them.

"i'm just glad." he mumbles and he feels donghyuck lean back just to examine his face. "glad that you're there to make my 2020 memorable."

fireworks soon start to pop above their heads making renjun look up at the sky and to donghyuck who was already staring at him.

"it's the new year."

renjun mutters in a breathless voice and he smiles when he sees another firework.

and another.

and another.

"god you're so cute."

flustered for what donghyuck just said, renjun slowly turns to look at the latter, his eyes already at his lips.

"h-hyu-..."

renjun doesn't even get to call out the boy when he feels donghyuck's lips on him, and he's quick to respond, their bodies already on the ground.

he couldn't feel more happy to be with the one he loves the most under the fireworks on new years.

"happy new year, love."

thank you so much for supporting this book considering i just started it this year and couldn't be more grateful for everything that has happened this year!

2020 has honestly been a wild rollercoaster, for me especially.

this story semi touches on some things i felt this 2020, except for getting kicked out from my parents house, and finding jobs TT

i'm sorry that it's short, i couldn't formulate any ideas the past few days and my mind just landed on with this idea >//<

anyway, i don't wanna say to much but i hope 2021 treats everyone so well and please stay safe, still wear your masks and take care!!!
