"All those times that you didn't leave it's been occurring to me, I'd like to hang out with you for my whole life"
You smiled as you looked up at Spencer, "I missed you" you muttered. He never had a case in Vegas after he saw you, and he didn't have a single vacation day. Six months, it had been six agonizing months since you last saw Spencer.
"I missed you too, sweet girl" He consoled, kissing your forehead. Spencer had been giving you space over the past week, letting you catch up with your daughter and Emily. No matter how long it was that he was away from you, he still had nightly calls with you.
He gripped your waist, smiling as you moved closer to him, "Did you mean it?" You frowned tilting your head at the question, "That you found the person that made life worth living?" He clarified, analyzing your facial expressions out of instinct.
"Spencer, I spent years of my life lying to him, but everything I said in that interrogation room I meant. You give my life meaning" You revealed, wrapping your arms around his neck "You have solely changed my entire outlook on life" He let out a sigh of relief, "Hopefully it's a positive outlook"
You laughed, "Spencer Reid, you have completely and utterly ruined loving someone else for me. I've fallen for you and I don't want that to ever change" He smiled softly at your words, "I will always love you, come on let's go out"
You shook your head looking over at the clock "Spence, it's midnight everything is closed." You had no idea where the time had gone, time had seemed to slow whenever you were together. "It'll be fun I promise," He whispered against your lips, his lips brushing against yours.
The kiss was electrifying, you felt yourself melting into the kiss letting go of any fears you once had. You smiled into the kiss, tangling your fingers into his curly hair. "Mm, let's go on that adventure Dr. Reid" you muttered against his lips.
Spencer pulled away, a soft smile taking over his lips as he let go of your waist gripping your hand instead. "Any guesses?" He asked as he grabbed his keys, leading you out of his apartment into the quiet foyer.
"Hm, probably a library or stargazing at the park?" You guessed, starting the descent to the ground level of the building. With the number of books Spencer had in his apartment, you doubted he would want to buy any more, but one of the things you fell in love with about Spencer was how he reads to you almost every night.
Spencer laughed softly, the sound filling the stairwell "Nope, something better" Your mind wandered with the different dates he could have planned, you barely even realized that the two of you had reached the ground level. "Can I have a hint?" You pleaded, a small shiver running up your spine as the night air hit your skin.
"We've been there before" he hummed out, opening the passenger's side door for you. You pondered over the few places around DC that Spencer had taken you to as you got into his car. The memories of all of your dates flashing in and out as you tried to narrow it down.
The soft purring of the engine brought you back to reality, Spencer interlaced his fingers with yours. "The museum?" You asked, looking over at him hoping that it was the correct answer. He nodded, the memory of the date replaying for the both of you. "As much as I enjoyed our date, we never actually saw the museum"
Your laugh filled the car, "It was quite an exciting game of hide and seek" He shook his head as he drove to the familiar museum. "I love you, Y/n" his voice was soft and loving, "I love you too, Spencer" you responded, your tone matching his.
"Wait Spence, it's midnight how are we getting in?" You turned to face him, surely he didn't plan on sneaking into it. "About that, uh breaking in" He smiled, the words came out as simple as 'I love you'.
"You are an FBI agent, and you want to break into the Smithsonian at midnight just for a date?" You clarified, you slowed down your words as if you were explaining something to a child. "Y/n, we fucked in the bathroom there, that's public indecency plus as you said I can just say I'm looking into something if need be."
You shook your head, "You have a point, now come on let's actually enjoy the exhibits." You gripped Spencer's hand as the purr of the engine ceased. He nodded, releasing your hand as he exited the car. Taking your hand in his again as you joined him on the steps of the museum.
He led you around to one of the back entrances, crouching in front of the door "Do you have a bobby pin?" You bit your lip trying to hold back the laughter threatening to escape. "You didn't come prepared? You're lucky that I have one" You pulled the bobby pin from your hair handing it to Spencer.
He picked the lock, smiling back at you "Come on, little one" He gripped your hand leading you through the basement of the museum "Watch your head" he advised holding up the plastic tarp, letting you through first.
You smiled, feeling the love in Spencer's words, even the smallest of phrases had love in them. You stopped in your tracks, looking at the different hallways leading off to separate exhibits. He led you down the closest one, starting to talk about the different pieces of art.
You listened to him ramble on about when the different pieces were made and what inspired them. "I love you so much, Spencer" you admired, leaning your head against his shoulder. "I love you too, little girl" He whispered, wrapping his arm around your waist looking down at you.
