"Do you think I've gone blind? I know it's not the truth when you say 'I'm Fine'"

"Blake's leaving the BAU, a spots open for me to join" Emily's voice rang out from your phone. You smiled to yourself as you continued to clean your room "So you're coming back to Virginia? Are you sure I know how much you love London?"

"Well I miss them, and I miss hanging out with you" You laughed softly at her reasoning. "You won't be in charge anymore" You reminded her of the change in roles "Less paperwork" Emily retaliated with a soft chuckle.

"How are you and Spencer?" You bit your lip trying to find the right words to explain your situation. "Well, we haven't really had a chance to talk about things." She hummed before she spoke again "You're afraid to commit to him, aren't you?" You sighed, rolling your eyes and shaking your head even though you were alone, "This is why I hate you sometimes, but yeah, the only reason why I confessed my feelings, was because I thought he wouldn't hear me"

"You also have commitment issues because of Devin" She reminded you of yet another toll he made on your mental state. "Em, I had commitment issues before him, they just got worse after him" You defended yourself, "and don't act like you don't have commitment issues either" She laughed "That's what we get when we love criminals and then fall for FBI agents" You chuckled before responding "I guess so"

Hearing the soft knock at your door disrupted your cleaning, "Em, I'll call you back" You concluded the call, heading to the front door of your small apartment, looking through the peephole and laughing softly.

You opened the door, your eyes meeting familiar hazel ones "Spence, are you sure you can't read minds?" A small chuckle leaving his lips "I'm positive, can I come in?" You nodded stepping aside to let him in. He smiled as he crossed the threshold, "We need to talk about that night"

You took a deep breath but nodded, shutting the door before looking at him. "What about?" You whispered, not wanting to fully admit your feelings again. Spencer looked back at you "You know what, come on please we started to"

You looked down at the floor, "Spence, someone tried to kill you, it kinda ruined the moment" you joked, hearing Spencer sigh "I know, but you left right after. I'll understand either way, just talk to me about it"

You bit your lip before sitting on the edge of the chair. "Spence, I don't think I'm ready for another relationship just yet, especially if I have no idea where he is. I guess I just don't want anyone else to get hurt by him, especially not you."

"He won't hurt anyone, I promise" Spencer interrupted, "Oh yeah Spence? Do you wanna know the last thing he told me? Tell Spencer I said hi. He knows about you, and he's pissed because of it. I won't let him hurt you. You don't know how protective he is especially of me. If we start dating I don't know what he might do." You choked out the words, your voice faltering as you recited the last thing Devin told you.

He nodded, looking over at you, resting his hand on your knee to comfort you. "Y/N, we don't need to start dating, to be honest, I'm not ready for another relationship. Especially if we aren't in the best mental states"

You faked a smile, "I'm fine, let's just take it slow" Spencer gave you a forced smile as you said that you were fine. "Well, I have the rest of the weekend off, so come on darling" He stood up holding his hand out for you.

You smiled gripping his hand "Where are we going?" "It'll be an adventure, let's go" You laughed "Spence, I need to get changed if you're taking me out on a date" He smiled at your words "I thought we weren't putting labels on this" "We aren't but still, pick me up in an hour?" His laugh filled the room, "Yes ma'am"

You sighed as you looked at your outfit in the mirror, a pair of dark blue jeans with a black sweater. This was your third choice, always finding something wrong with the other outfits. Whether the outfit was too elaborate or revealing too much. You slipped on a pair of black ankle boots. Before you had enough time to criticize your outfit, you heard the soft knock indicating Spencer had returned.

You bit your lip as you opened the door, grabbing your clutch and phone. "Ready?" Your voice was barely above a whisper as you stood in front of him.
