"Not a cloud in sight, what a perfect night"

"So, tell me about Emily" Spencer started as the pair wandered the streets of DC. "How'd you meet?" You smiled at the question, recalling your childhood "My dad worked security for her mom, she didn't really pay attention to me until I was in high school"

"Did you know Hotch? I know he worked for her mom" Spencer's question, made you think back to when you were in high school. "Spence, to be honest, I have no idea. I don't remember most of my teenage years" You unveiled the grimacing fact, looking down at the sidewalk as you did so.

"But enough about me, Spence, I know barely anything about you" He looked down at you, "That's because I'm not that interesting, or when I do talk about things, people don't like it" You stopped in your tracks, grabbing his wrists to stop him. "Spence, you remember what I said to you at the hospital right?"

He nodded, his lips parting to speak, "Then you know that I love it when you ramble off about science and books, or about the latest case" You smiled up at him as you reassured him "I was meaning your past, where you grew up, why you wanted to become a profiler."

He smiled back at you, "Well I'm from Vegas, and profiling has always been an interest of mine, I don't know what I would do if I wasn't with the BAU." You rolled your eyes at the brief answers to your pestering. "Spence, you know basically everything that has happened to me. I feel like I know nothing about you, come on let down your walls. You can trust me"

Spencer sighed, before giving you a curt nod "Fine but only once we get to the park" You smiled softly, placing a light kiss on his cheek before whispering "Race you" It took him a couple of seconds to register your words. His laugh filled the air as he chased after you.

"I win" you cheered as you arrived at the park, smiling softly as Spencer caught up to you. "How did you run that in heels?" He asked softly, trying to catch his breath. "Technically these aren't heels. Now, what's your love life like?" You asked softly as the pair of you started down the path.

You noticed a faint blush form on Spencer's cheeks at the questions, "Not the best, I'm usually awkward around girls, a couple of flings but nothing serious until about two years ago. I reached out to this geneticist, Maeve, we talked for about 10 months before making plans to meet. We never actually got to meet, the first time I saw her, was right before she died."

His words were somber, "Spence, I'm so sorry." Emily had mentioned her, but it still hurt to hear it from Spencer's perspective "It's okay, I was a wreck for a while, that's also why I hadn't reached out sooner." You looked over at him, "Hey, don't blame yourself for what happened to me. It wasn't your fault, okay? I knew what I was getting into back in 2005." Your words laced with reassurance.

"But-" You shook your head "You aren't winning this, it wasn't your fault." He sighed softly "Fine, what else do you want to know?" You thought about what you shared with him, "Hm, let's save traumatic experiences for last, so what about your family?" Spencer's laugh filled the air as you spoke, "Well, since my love life isn't the best, I don't have any kids. I do have a godson but that's about it besides my mom."

"Can you tell me about them?" You inquired, smiling softly as you heard him mention his godson. "Well, my mom lives in Vegas still, I write to her almost every day. Henry is my godson, he's JJ's son, he's turning six this year. He dressed up like me for Halloween one year." He smiled to himself as he spoke.

Your attention had shifted from Spencer's answers to the other people in the park, a shiver running up your spine as the familiar fragrance hit you. "Spence, we need to leave" Your voice was hushed, not bothering to wait for his response.

You looked around the park, paranoid that he might be there. "Y/N, what's wrong?" Spencer's voice pulling you back to reality, the both of you quickly exiting the park, "Either I'm being paranoid or he's here. Either way, I'm not waiting to find out which one it is." Your words began to blur together as you spoke. "Hey, slow down, who's here?"

"Bonjour princesse, me manquez-vous? (Hello princess, miss me?)"

Fuck.

A/N - I'm so sorry for the late update, I've been having no motivation for the filler chapters. Hopefully, thirteen will be up soon
