"I'm miles away from seeing you, but I can see the stars from America. I wonder do you see them too?"
You sighed, walking the streets of Las Vegas. It had been a month since you woke up. In that month, you remembered more of the details of the single night from your past that was spent in the city that never sleeps. The memories kept rushing back, sometimes when you stayed at your hotel. Others when you walked the streets trying to clear your mind.
You thought you would forget the whole thing, hell you didn't even remember it the next morning. But the more time you spent in Las Vegas, the night came back in bits and pieces. You dug your fingernails into the palm of your hand, trying to bring yourself back to reality, to keep the memories at bay. No matter how hard you tried it didn't keep them back.
You felt his arm snake around your waist, smiling as you admired the building. The casino was packed, the smell of cigarette smoke and alcohol filled the air. You barely heard his voice over the jumbled mess of other conversations.
"Happy Birthday Princess," you grinned as you heard Devin speak. His hand gripping your hip, holding you close to him "Where do you want to go first, love?" You bit your lip, trying to figure out what you should do first for your 21st birthday. "Hm Blackjack" You decided, looking over at the different card tables.
"Shit, I'm sorry" you murmured as you collided with someone, bringing you back to reality. "Y/N?" You heard the all too familiar voice, Spencer. "Spence? What are you doing here?" He chuckled softly, "We have a case, but that's not important, come on," You smiled at his laugh, taking his outstretched hand.
He leads you through the bustling streets, the crowds getting smaller and smaller the farther you go. "Spence, we better not being going to a fucking crime scene" You mumbled, looking around at your surroundings. He shook his head continuing to lead the way, stopping at a small coffee shop.
"Nope, this is our final destination. The best coffee in Vegas." He smiled, holding the door open for you. "Thank you, I guess I should always trust the locals" you smiled as you entered the shop.
He laughed softly, following you into the shop, wrapping his arms around your waist. "I've missed you" he mumbled, kissing the top of your head. "Spence, we talk every night." you laughed, turning to face him.
"It's not the same, I miss this. Going on dates, seeing you" he whispered, looking down at you as he mentioned a few of the things he missed. You bit your lip softly, staring back at him. He was right, it wasn't the same, you missed all of the late night talks, the movie nights, everything.
"I know, but it's something" you reasoned, leaning against his chest. It was the one thing holding your relationship together, communication. Even over 2000 miles apart, you tried to make it work. "You know, now I have an excuse to use up my vacation time," he teased, running his fingers through your hair.
"How are you going to explain coming back here again? Good luck trying to convince Emily." You commented, "I can just say I'm going to visit my mom" he retorted with a triumphant smile.
You smiled as you shook your head. "Come on, we need to order, or are we just gonna stand here?" He chuckled following you as you walked up to the counter. You ordered your usual coffee, grabbing your wallet from your purse as Spencer ordered his coffee. Before Spencer could protest, you handed your card to the barista.
"Why couldn't I pay," he voiced, following you to a table in the corner. You turned around noticing his slight pout "Spence, you can pay for our next date," you insisted, pecking his lips softly.
A/N - I'm sorry this is so short, I wanted to get something out since I haven't updated in like 6 days but I'm writing a second story along with this one so my time is split between both of them and school. This is gonna be the last happy chapter until 27 so enjoy it!!!
