The flames around Paul disappeared before two cult members took both an arm from him.

"No, Paul!" Faye wanted to run to him, but her circle's flames prevented her from going to him.

More tears began to stream down my eyes when I see him being dragged to Thorne.

"You piece of shit! Let him go!" I could hear the anger dripping from Jay's voice.

Throne turned towards him still with the same cocky smirk.

"Don't worry. You'll join him in a bit."

They forced Paul to stand in front of Thorne, grabbing his hair to prevent him from moving his head too much.

"You should be glad. Humans always have a useless life. See this as an honor. You're helping something much greater than you."

Paul clenched his teeth together, showing Thorne that he wasn't afraid of him.

"Any last words, human," Thorne chuckle.

I could see Paul think, but what he did next surprised me. He spits on Thorne, making some cult members gasp. Thorne closed his eyes with clenched jaw wiping the spit from his face. A glare was placed on his face when he opened his eyes again.

Within the second, Thorne had lifted the knife and sliced Paul's throat.

"Nooooo!" Faye's painful cries echo through the whole forest.

The two cult members let go of Paul's body, making it fall to the hard ground

The two cult members let go of Paul's body, making it fall to the hard ground. Paul held his hands on the wound, but that didn't help him at all. The ground around him began to turn into a puddle of blood. Not being able to look at his body anymore, I look away, squeezing my eyes shut.

Still, it didn't help to stop hearing Faye's cries. Before looking away, I had seen a glimpse of Faye's and Jay's with a distressed look on their faces. I wanted all of this to stop, yet there was nothing I could do.

Thorne is so much more powerful than me. Even if I had Jay and Faye by my side, we would never be able to defeat him and the cult. I open my eyes again when I hear the flames rais again. He must have poured Paul's blood in it. It's one step closer to bringing my dad back. One step closer to our deaths.
