"Thanks for helping me," I said when we came downstairs with the snacks and drinks.
Jay put everything on the table before taking everything out of my hands, placing it beside the rest.
"It's no big deal. Besides, you would have dropped it if I didn't."
I let out a little laugh, nodding my head. He's right. I probably would have dropped it. I hear the laughter coming closer, and I spun around, looking at the stairs. I bite my lip, trying to control my nerves. I hate these kinds of things!
"Ava, are you okay?" I felt Jay's hand on my shoulder, making me turn around.
His brows were frowned, giving me a concerned look.
"Uhm yeah, I'm fine." I lied, smiling at him.
He looked for a sec at me before nodding his head.
"Look, if you don't want to stay here anymore, just come to my room, and I will drive you home, okay?" I nodded my head.
"Thanks, Jay, I appreciate it."
Loud laughter came from behind me, and I quickly turn around. People started to get downstairs.
"Let's get this party started!"
I raised my brows when I saw Dean with his arm around Chloe's shoulders. Faye came behind him down the stairs looking upset with her arms around herself. Something was wrong. I could feel it, and Jay knew it too because he mentions his sister to come over.
"Faye, what's Dean doing here!"
Faye looked back at Dean and Chloe before looking back at us.
"Chloe invited him. They're dating now."
A frown appeared on her face while looking down.
"Why would she date him? She knew what he did to you, right?" I asked, putting my hand on her arm. Even though I had no idea what he had done to her, they never told me what it was, but I know it was something terrible.
