A hiss leaves my lips when Faye put some healing cream on my feet.
"Sorry." She mumbles, carefully dapping it on my wounds.
I shook my head.
"No, it's okay. I'm still not used to the cream."
She nodded her head, not looking up at me.
I bite my lips, feeling that something is wrong with her. The moment we came back from the forest, she ran towards Jay and Mister Gray pulling them both in her embrace, before turning to me, hugging me too, but after that, she hadn't said a word to me.
When my aunt offered to clean up my wounds, Faye said that she would do it so that my aunt could concentrate on healing Jay.
"Faye? Is everything okay?" She stopped cleaning my wounds but didn't look up at me.
"My dad and brother could have died. You could have died tonight."
My eyes were on her, but she kept on looking at the ground.
"Why did you run after them?" She finally looked up at me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, confuse.
"Your aunt and my dad were about to rescue him, but you risk your life and when alone after them. Why? Why would you risk your life to save my brother?"
I bite the inside of my cheek, thinking about what she said.
"I know how my dad is. He would have tortured and killed him if I didn't go after them. If we had sent my aunt and your dad, he would have killed them too. I didn't want anyone else to get hurt because of me."
I moved my eyes away from her think about the things my dad could have done to them. I'm ashamed to be his daughter.
Faye shook her head before standing up.
"I'm very grateful for you to save him, and I'm happy that you're in my life and my friend. But I don't want to lose people who I care about. That includes you."
