It was hard to run when you can't see anything around you. We were so lucky that we didn't run into a tree or bushes. The demon was still following us, getting closer and closer. My hand tightens around Jays when I saw how close it got.

No matter how fast we were, the demon seems to be faster than us. The injures from earlier weren't helping either. I could feel my back burning from when I hit the tree. Jay was running in front of me, trying to find a way out of this forest and away from the demon. I could hear it let out a scream making the hairs on my arms stand up.

I was pretty sure we wouldn't survive this. All I want is for Jay to get out of this alive, so I guess I'm going to have to use my demon powers. Hopefully, I will die, then if my dad comes here and see that I'm gone, he will leave aunt Meg alone.

We didn't see the edge coming because of the dark, so it was too late when we finally saw it. The snow made us slip further off the hill. I let go of Jay's hand the moment we fell. I rolled, also hitting my back and head on some rocks and tree branches.

Some snow got into my mouth, making it harder to breathe. Finally, I came to a stop when I hit a rock. I think I blacked out for a few minutes due to the impact I made with my head against the rock.

When I open, my eyes blackspots were covering my vision, followed by blurriness. Everything in my body hurts. I'm pretty sure I broke somethings while falling. Blood was rushing out the now reopen wound on my head and out the new one from the back of my head.

For a few seconds, I just lay there in the cold snow trying to catch my breath. I wanted to give up and just let that demon take me. Maybe everything would end then. But I can't. Jay is still here, and I can't let him die.

Wait, Jay!

My head snapped up, trying to look for him.

"Jay!"

I sat up straight, trying to locate him in the snow. Come on, where are you?! The darkness was making it hard for me to see clearly.

"Jay!"

I spoke again, trying not to be too loud so that the demon could hear me. I had no idea where the demon was. It didn't follow us down here. My thoughts got interrupted when I heard a groan coming from the left of me. I turn around and saw something dark moving in the snow.

"Jay?" I try to stand up but fell immediately when a stinging feeling came to my right leg.

My hands when to it, and the moment I touch it, I let out a hiss in pain. I pulled my hands back and saw that it was covered with a dark liquid.

Blood. It was bleeding. I could feel it run down my leg.

Ignoring the pain in my leg, I began to crawl towards the groaning. When I came closer, I finally could make out the outline of Jay. He slowly sat up, holding his head. I could make out the blood that was running down his cheek.
