A groan left my mouth when I wanted to move

A groan left my mouth when I wanted to move. Slowly I open my eyes but quickly shut them again due to the bright light. Carefully I sat up straight, hissing when I felt the pain in my body.

I open my eyes looking around. I was lying on my bedroom floor. So that means I didn't reach my bed on time and passed out last night. I let out a sight while running my hand through my messy hair.

My dad did a good number on me last night, or I think so. When I try to think about what happened, I only see blurry things and pain, a lot of pain in my body. I shook my head, trying to get the pictures out of my head.

Slowly I got up, seeing that I had to get ready or I would miss the bus. I took a quick shower making sure that all the dried-up blood would be gone from the night before. After I was done with everything, I took my bag and began to make my way downstairs.

Slowly I walked down the stairs looking around and listing if I would hear anything. I don't know where my dad is, and I don't know if any of his followers are here in the house. I think they were here last night, but I can't remember it.

It's all so vague and dark in my mind. The more I think about it, the more I got a headache from it. I began to make my way to the door, still looking around. I don't want to deal with my dad right now. Who knows what he's planing right now, and I rather escape to school than stay here.

I let out a yell when I bump into someone's hard chest. Quickly I jump back, looking at the person's face.

"Thorne, what are you doing here?"

Thorne is one of my dad's followers. He's a demon, a strong demon, so my dad likes him. My dad always keeps him around when he's doing something important. That means that something will happen, and I don't want to stay and find out.

"Hello Ava, where are you going?" I bite the inside of my cheek, looking away from his intimidating stare at me.

I have to admit Thorne is a handsome guy

I have to admit Thorne is a handsome guy. He's a few years older than me, but I don't like him like that. Every time he's around me, I feel intimidated by him. He always looked at me. Even if I look away, I can still feel his stare on me.
