Unkahi kahani!

EPILOGUE

It had been since 5 years now, since they completed their college. While Natasha was busy with her own business of event management, Rehan had been working in an MNC where he had worked day and night to reach where today he is! He was the General Manager of that company. Worked hard to get to that place and everyone around knew his capabilities and his focus! 

He was happy with his life, he took care of all the expenses and made sure baba and Jaan were happy and had everything that they wanted and needed. They now lived in a 4 bhk apartment in a posh area in Delhi. Being at that position in his life he was grounded, he knew the hardships that every other middle class boy /girl faces in this harsh world. His colleagues would look up to him and admire his work and follow him for any advice! 

While his professional life was on track and had nothing to worry about! Jaan was busy with her academics and Baba had joined some club where he kept himself busy. And on the other hand his personal life was going the best possible way! 

He had never asked for anything personally, but he had found that one person who was a rock when he needed the most! Maya his Maya!Jaan and baba knew about her and had met her on many occasions. She would make the place perfect and Rehan always would smile and that sparkle in his eyes would tell everyone how much he loved her and was in constant awestruck. 

Maya had started her own NGO and was personally invested with each child and their upbringing! This is what he loved about her,she was herself and no more that facade of high society and pressure! She simply didn't care about it after she met Rehan! 

Though Rehan and Maya were professionally working differently, they would think the exact same thing. And this was common and Jaan and baba told them, "Tum dono ek jaise hi ho… Ek hi sikhe ke do pehlu!" They were happy with their small happy family and Maya's parents liked Rehan on how he had progressed in his life. 

He had met her parents shortly after the college had completed. He had promised them and himself that he would become something in life and then marry Maya! For the world he was Rehan, but for Maya he was her R the one who she met in Goa and she was his Pari… she had truly changed his life and would call her Pari! 

Being so happy Maya would think about what had happened to them in the past and how they came this long rocky way holding each other's hands! Yet when she would look at him, he would be most of the time lost. Especially when the topic of his mother or his past would come up! 

He had been avoiding it for the longest time now. She had asked him many times, but he would change the topic to something else or they would have a nasty fight over it! She stopped pressurizing him and he never spoke about it! But she wanted him to confide in her all his pain, after all he had harshly judged her and the rest! 

She had enough of him and had confronted him. 

"Rehan jo hua hai tum batana nahi chalte ho… Phele nahi bataya I get it… I was new in your life, ee didn't know anything about each other's past or life.. But mene apna haar sach tumhe bataya hai!chahe wo Pari ho ya Maya Kasshyap sab kuch share kiya hai.. From how my day was to what my childhood and life was!! Sab!! But you haven't told me aise kya hua tha tumhare sath that you rebuked on my background and you still! Haar ladai mein tum yeh baat late ho that I'm from elite class I wouldn't know the struggle and pain of life.. Guess what your struggles might be different and difficult according to your situation, so were mine! Elite class se hu, par judge utni hi hoti hu.. Started an NGO toh bola charity kar rahi hoon because I want to hide something or some mishap! Show off karti hoon, because elite se hoon! College mein pressure tha not to be yourself.. College kya school mein bhi tha… I had to behave in a certain way.. Agar nahi karna toh bhi karna padta tha! Those were my struggles. Fir bhi after I met you I changed and opened up.. Music acha lagta hai but kar nahi pati thi kyunki none like old songs… Slow music bas English songs pasand they! So had to hide that as well, but tumhare sath wo bhi share kiya.. But you just don't want to share your pain! I'm not asking so I can judge… Wo tum mein bhi pata hai I will never judge or hurt you! I just want you to feel free, Jo itne saal se daba ke rahka hai wo sab bahar aayega so you'll feel light and better! Haar baar you are lost, and when I ask you anything about your life or Ma tum bas avoid karte ho… avoiding isn't the solution for anything! Bata ke toh dekho… Shayad samjh jaungi.. I'm after your girlfriend and soon to be your wife! "

She completed herself and stood near the window as she knew he would either walk away or fight or sit silent and forget about it and work on his dumb presentation! That was the best way to get away from this situation. 

But instead of doing anything that would hurt her even more. He opened up and told her everything right from baba losing his job and how Natasha's father helped them to that fateful night of his birthday! As he told her he had tears flowing and she was consoling him. She knew now why would he judge her or speak harshly with her. Especially after she unintentionally had brought hi mother in their stupid fight at college! 

She saw through his pain that he hid all these years. After the terrace incident 5 years ago, this was the first time he cried his heart out and that too in front of her. Kept his head on her lap and cried like a baby. All he muttered throughout his cry and pain, "why me? Meri Maa hi kyu? Why me?" 

Which further broke her heart and she laid her head on his head to comfort him. He held her hand and asked her which Astonished her as well! "Tum to bacho ke liye Pari didi ho na! Tum meri Pari ho toh tum meri Maa ko wapas laa sakti ho.. Lao na.. Tell her uska Rehan ko uski yaad aati hai.. He misses her.. Sab Hai paise, ghar, security, bas maa hi nahi hai" 

All she could do was console him and kissed on his forehead. Gave him some water and told him to sleep as he needs it! She sat there throughout the night next to him. As he would wake up yelling out for his mother and she would calm him down.. She had promised not to leave him. 

The next day. He saw her sitting next to him and sleeping admiring her sleep and realising he had told her everything about his past yesterday night and how she had handled him. Kissed on her forehead and made her sleep properly. He felt much better that day. He had opened up finally to someone! He was ready to fight his other battles now! 

He had planned to propose to her on her birthday and that's what he did! She was his fiancee and then his wife after a few months. His life had been going perfectly well after she had come in it!
