Harry

"So you just think it's a fucking coincidence?!" I was pouring my confusion out onto the two of them, maintaining a shouting tone while also keeping it down. This wasn't my proudest moment, but I couldn't care less that I looked like a disgruntled toddler— certainly not right now.

My hands ran nervously through my hair, slicking back the unruly curls. I stared at Meg, soundly sleeping on Rory's coach. How paralyzed and limp she was, scared me to no return. I didn't know what to think, just that whatever was going on wasn't good.

The room was dead quiet, an hour after she passed out on me, the crowd faded and eventually, Rory kicked the stragglers out. Unfortunately for me, no one had seen Meg's ex or even Florian since earlier.

Rory looked rough, even if he hadn't drunk as much as me. Sitting on the other sofa beside Indie while I paced the room. It seemed to be a theme- me sauntering around like an idiot when I was tossed and in distress. "I think we can't point fingers, we don't know if she took-" My deepened scowl cuts his words short, I shake my head earnestly, gritting my teeth together.

"Don't fucking say that! She didn't take anything, think about it— it doesn't add up. She could've gotten roofied or- I don't know." My mind spiraled with frenzy, the desperateness of my gaze landing back and forth from Indie and Rory to Meg.

Indie was dazed out of her mind, probably because she'd been smoking the whole night. Now she was lost in thought, looking toward the floor while Niall's snore sounded in the background.

"In the timespan of her leaving the table, what an hour? Maybe two?" I nod, saying 'obviously' with my eyes. As much as a Brainiac Rory was he just didn't catch onto cues.

"Yes, That's what I'm saying! It's completely possible... Her ex just comes to town and she's fucking drugged? I refuse to believe she relapsed. Okay? Meg wouldn't throw her sobriety away." It wasn't right, even with her ex showing up out of nowhere. She wouldn't just give up like that.

"Her anniversary is in two days Harry..." Indie peeps up with realization. A fact I had already known considering I planned on distracting her that day, doing something fun to keep her mind off of her sobriety.

I refused to believe it, but their facts were standing against me. She's been out of it this whole week, chain-smoking, upset about her father. What if her ex showing up just triggered this? And even with those notions, it had zero merits. "So what? She just swallowed some fucking tranquilizers- no. If she was gonna relapse it wouldn't be with a fucking rape drug!"

I can see in Indies' eyes that she agrees with me, taking back what she'd just said. It didn't make any sense and she knew it.

"You think it's her ex." Rory inquires, just as seemingly lost as the both of us, we knew Meg deeper than he did. The notion her ex drugged her wasn't obscure, I mean come on.
