Magnolia-- -
"It was so fucking embarrassing... I was just skating as usual and he just walks in like he owns the place."
"Who knows how long he was standing there," I whine, tossing my hands in the air, upping the dramatics. The corners of her mouth turn, representing the clear sarcastic act. She thinks this is anything but serious."Oh, brother." She rolls her eyes, taking a long-drawn-out sip from the energy drink in her hand. Though the metal is hiding the majority of her face I can see the plastered smile. Scrunching my face into a scowl to mildly mock her back.
"Seriously, and then he just stomps off like an angry toddler. Like fuck me, it's not my fault he chose to come to the wrong rink. Don't have to be a dick about it.." Indie chuckles at my remark, a grin strung out upon her usually stoic face.
"I'm sure it wasn't that bad, cmon.." She nudges my shoulder, the consistent pokes in the side have me flinching slightly. Swatting at her to leave me alone.
"Trust me... It was." I groan, her face shines with an even bigger smile with my response. Her thick bushy eyebrows raised into her forehead. Deep almost black eyes peering judgingly into mine. I catch onto the fact she's implying something just not exactly what."What?" I mutter, Indie looks down at the floor, picking at her nails. She smirks to herself.
A brief moment of silence bleeds in before she clears her throat, "I think this whole rich parents, superiority complex you got goin' on is really getting to you.."
I drop my mouth open instantly in defense, knowing some little part of her statement is true. It still stung.
"Fuck off Indie, I'm as humble as they come." I gush at myself, flicking my hair away from my face. The joke continues as she breaks her smile back out, nodding her head in irony.
"Oh, really?" She pesters, heightening her brows at me. A challenge my ego wouldn't give up on.
"Yeah, really." I snap, a little too aggressive in tone. This leads to her taking it down a notch, mentally as I can see it on her face, and physically when her tone softens.
"W'okay..." She goes back to looking at her nails, shaking the energy drink, and then chucking it into the rubbage across the room. Winking at me when it goes directly in the bin.
"If anyone's got an ego it's him.." I backtrack, sorting through my wits. I'm not blind, I know damn well I have a large ego, and as someone who can admit that to herself, I know he does too. It's written all over his dumb hockey-playing face, I didn't have to know him to see the blatant arrogance. Passing by here and there was enough to know that much.
"We're still talking about this?" Indie groans, throwing her head back rather dramatically. "Yes, we are." I sneer, making a sour face. She rolls her eyes at the crinkle between my furrowed brows, kicking back further in her step.
"Ugh," She lets out a noise of pure frustration, "I mean you don't even know him Noliee, but considering he's a hockey jock I'm not denying he's got an ego... But so do you.." Meaning what? I can't say shit.
"Ha-ha, very funny."
"You should do stand-up, it could be called. 'Imma sarcastic snob who only listens to underground music- Nirvana oh ya' probably never heard of them.'" I mock, wiggling my finger at her accusingly. Indie shakes her head, twirling one of her curls around her thumb.
The gum in her mouth clacks as she opens it to speak, "Wow.... that's fucked.." She purses her lips trying not to break out into a shit-eating grin.
