He sat at the table as he waited for whatever she was making to finish. The rings gleamed in the light, filling him with satisfaction that he had marked her chest and her hand with his marks. He peered down at the ring she had made for him with her own hands and smiled. He bore her mark on his finger with pride in his heart.  Lucifer, king of hell, was marked by a female. In all his centuries he never believed it would happen to him. She brought him out of his thoughts by setting a steaming bowl of food in front of him with a thick slice of what he could only assume was fresh bread. He sniffed the food earning a grumble from his stomach at the sweet aroma that hit his nostrils. He waited as she served the staff and herself, watching as she motioned for her to sit down with them to eat. When she peered at him, he nodded his encouragement as they both took a seat.  His first bite earned a groan of ecstasy as flavors burst on his tongue. He assumed it was some type of stew and he could eat it all day long.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes, it's very tasty. What is it?"
"Deer stew with fresh bread. There is stuff I did not know to add from my old life but she was kind enough to show me. I think it turned out quite well. Its very filling with the bread to soak up the left over juices. What do you think?"
"I think you both did well together. Why don't you two work together on meals after you get done training with the soldiers? I am sure she has plenty to share with you."
Excitement entered her eyes as she turned to the staff sitting with them quietly. She looked shocked at his suggestion as she looked over at Nila's questioning gaze. He made a mental note to learn the staffs' names he did not know as he watched the thought process going on in her head.
"If it would not offend, I would love to show you how to make things."
"Oh that would be lovely! I can not wait to see what you can show me! Oh Lillith, thank you!"
"It would be my pleasure Ma'am."
"None of that ma'am nonsense. You may call me Nila."
"If you wish."
"Of course! Oh this is so wonderful, I can not wait!"
A smile broke out across his face at her excitement. She was eager to learn, her mind needing stimulation. He could not be happier as she talked excitedly with the staff he learned to be Lillith. He would look at her file later and see what he had on her. He felt truly out of touch with his staff as he watched their excited back and forth about what to make next. He stood up to take his dishes to the sink, planting a kiss to her head as he let her know he was going to his office for awhile. She smiled up at him as he left to head upstairs. He had notes to make and files to go through. His mind continued to wander back to her as he sat down at his desk and peered around. He had stacks of files that needed gone through and request forms that needed decisions and yet he couldn't focus on any of it. Something was nagging at the back of his head and he did not know what it was. He pulled the soldiers files out and peered down at them as the buzzing got louder. Whatever this feeling was had something to do with one of these men. He let his instinct take over as he looked through each file individually.  The buzzing turned to a dull roar as his hand landed on a file near the middle of the stack. He opened the file to peer down at the picture paper clipped to the inside of the file. He registered the man he was looking at as one of the ones who claimed to have been blackmailed. His record was good but held a few smudges from earlier on. He read through his file again. Why would his radar go off for this man? One of the willing ones maybe but this one did not make sense. He jotted a note to himself on a sticky note and put it on the file. His gut never steered him wrong before so he would not discount it now. What was happening around him now?
