The last lights of sun disappeared behind the horizon, causing the darkness to claim the night sky. The wind was cold but fresh and relaxing. Light rain poured from the sky and covered the streets.
After hours of George resisting the fact that his best friend was in fact a vampire. He knew he had to face the truth sooner or later. So he had slid on a coat and went outside for a cool walk.
"How is this even possible?" He murmured to himself.
Though despite it being shocking that Clay was a vampire, it drew him to another question that he wasn't sure how to answer; Did he fall in love with Clay.
George denied this question in the past countless times, but right now he wasn't so quick to shove this question away. George knew that he had to be honest with himself, especially right now.
George has seen the way Clay healed himself and the way Clay had practically begged him to believe him. Though vampires were from fairytales, and this was reality. But it explained so many things as well. Ryan did say that Clay and Crow weren't normal. Was Crow a vampire as well?
George groaned, this was all too confusing.
He looked around and realized he had walked to a small park. He sat down on the rain soaked swing. He kicked his legs out in a rhythm and went back to thinking.
He thought about Clay. Those green eyes, the dirty blonde hair, his breath taking grin. Clay didn't seem dangerous or scary like the vampires in the books he read, instead Clay was enchanting. Although the small brunette had only known Clay for a few weeks, his heart picked up speed when ever he thought about him.
George remembered how much Clay was an idiot. But George liked that. Clay always made his stomach spin and made a smile appear on George's face.
"Oh." George breathed, making a realization. "I like Clay."
George took another breath as it seemed like weight lifted off his shoulders. His heart did a flip and George felt much better. Although on question still remained; Was Clay really a vampire?
George thought back to the day met Clay. He remembered the way Clay reacted when George cut himself on the seatbelt. He remembered the day when Clay started avoiding him, he also remembered how Clay never ate. George was beginning to connected all the pieces.
The biggest question George had though, was why Clay only acted like that around him. Two days ago, Nick had cut his finger on accident, but Clay didn't react at all. Clay was only 'dangerous' around George, never the other students.
George needed to talk to someone who had answers. Someone he could trust, but Clay had disappeared on him, who else could he talk to that would know?
He thought about calling Nick. Nick would have to have known since he was one of Clay's best friends. But Nick wasn't a vampire. Nick ate like normal, healed like normal, and he didn't have any super speed or strength.
Who else could be a vampire that he could talk to. He thought hard and scanned his brain for any memories. A smile grew on his face as he remembered something.
'You need to stay away from that blonde and the girl'
That's what Ryan had said that morning. Blonde as in Clay and girl as in;
Crow
George shuffled off the swing as the rain grew harder. He ran towards a tree for cover before digging out his phone. He quickly scrolled through his contacts until he found hers.
"If they're is anytime time that you're going to magically show up it's now." George said out loud. He typed in a quick message and waited a moment.
A few more moments passed and their was still no answer. He grew more nervous as time went by. George sighed as the last trace of hope dimmed. He slid his phone away and glanced towards the sky.
He was about to give up and head back home when his phone dinged, he rushed towards the phone tucked away in his pocket. When he pulled it out, he barely had enough time to turn it on, when a voice called out behind him.
"I think I owe you a lot of answers."
