"I'll be fine Crow." George told her.
"And are you really sure you don't want me near by in case of emergency?" Crow asked once again for the millionth time.
George turned around to look at the girl. Her face looked worried but calm. She gazed back into his eyes waiting for his answer. He sighed as a smile peaked at the corners of his lips.
"Crow." George smiled. "Seriously you need to calm down. This is my choice. You're not to be held responsible if something goes wrong. This should be between me and Clay."
Crow hesitated.
"I know," She whispered at last. "You're right, I trust that Clay will keep you safe. He really likes you."
George opened his mouth to answer but stopped when the smaller girl embraced him in a hug.
"Don't die." She told him.
"I won't." He mumbled to her and hugged her back. They stayed like that for a moment, in a friendly hug. She released him and took a step back. She gave him a nod and just like that, she was gone. George took a breath and turned back to the forest, ready to follow Crow's instructions.
George took a hesitant step into the forest, then another and another. He glanced around at the dark surrounding. Some leaves shuffled and forced himself to remember that he was doing this for Clay.
He pushed his way deeper into the forest to the clearing Crow had described. The farther he went the more nervous he got. Though soon it was just him and his thoughts.
A thousand questions swarmed his mind as he continued into the forest. Bushes seem to hold him back, roots and twigs tripped him, and branches scratched him. Everything seemed to be telling him to go back but a pair of green eyes burned through his mind and he knew he had to keep going.
A owl flew silently in the corner of his eyes, snapping him out of his own thoughts. He jumped back a bit and nervously stood there for a moment. He glanced around once more before deciding to continue heading straight.
Pools of moonlight trailed through the pine trees, giving him light to see. Although it was dim, he was thankful. Ahead of him there was an area that a great amount of moonlight poured in like milky silver.
In that area stood a boulder and on that boulder sat a tall boy. His features were even more enchanted in the moonlight. His blonde hair looked like a soft and light golden silver. His skin looked like it was glowing in the moonlight. His face peaked towards the moon ahead. George stopped in his tracks for a moment to admire the blonde boy in the moonlight.
"Woah." He mumbled but quickly fell silent in attempt to keep his presents unknown for now.
He continued to walk up to the blonde vampire, he looked up when he reached the edge of the clearing and his jaw dropped.
The stars were more visible away from the street lights. The town was already in the middle of no where so no cities could bleach out the stars. George watched in amazement before returning his eyes to Clay.
George stood there for a moment before taking a silent long breath. He stepped into the clearing to let himself be revealed. Clay finally looked over and immediately stood up.
"What are you doing here George?" Clay asked, so quietly.
"I came for you," George found himself saying. He began to take more steps closer to Clay. "I'm not scared of you Clay. I trust you."
"Don't come closer." Clay said and George stopped. "George I'm a bloodthirsty vampire. How could you say you trust me when I don't even trust myself around you."
The vampire took another hesitantly step backwards. There was a pause in their words and Clay watched George. George watched Clay silently before speaking up again.
"Listen to me Clay." George said, taking another step closer to Clay. "I trust you and I've fallen for you."
"George stop it."
"It's true. I don't care that you're a vampire. I did a lot of thinking and questioning." George continued and took a few more steps towards Clay. "It doesn't matter to me."
There was a silence that passed between them. For the first time he met that green gaze. Although it looked yellow to him, he didn't care. For a second he thought Clay would stop moving away but Clay took another backwards step.
"You don't understand George." Clay tried.
"I may not feel or understand how you're feeling." George started carefully. ""But I talked to Crow and she described the feeling on the way here."
"You saw Crow?"
"Yeah."
"George." Clay started softly but then his face changed to a different emotion. "I can't believe it George. It doesn't make any sense."
"What do you mean?" George asked confused.
"You've known me for a few weeks and you figure out that I'm a vampire and you still want me?"
"You've been a vampire since we've met, it literally doesn't change anything. The only difference is that I know now." George pointed out.
"George what do you want?" Clay said taking a single step forwards, "I seriously don't get it."
"Clay, I told you already, I don't care that you're a vampire. Don't you have feelings for me too?" George said.
"We're not discussing my feelings while you put you're life in danger." Clay told him firmly. "This isn't about me. This is about keeping you safe."
"It's about us." George said and his voice cracked a bit.
"There is no us." Clay yelled.
"So you're saying we weren't about to kiss after Nick left?" George scoffed. George's face suddenly fell and his voice soften, "Clay, let's not argue and yell at each other like in my house earlier."
"George." Clay sighed. "You should go."
"I came here for you and I'm not leaving now."
"I'm serious." Clay said, his voice rising again. "Go."
"I'm serious too." George stood his ground and started to walk towards Clay again.
Clay lowered his head and went silent. The silence seemed to crawl through the whole forest. George was about to speak up but then Clay lifted his head back up again. Clay looked so broken.
