Valentines DayQuidditch. It's all the school talks about on the days where matches are to take place. The Sneaky Snakes vs. Huff-n-Puff as I call them since I can't ever seem to remember what they're really called, not that I care to remember, if I do one day, then I do.
I was getting dressed for the match when there was a knock at my bedroom door. I walked to the door and opened it, surprised to see Cassius Warrington posted up against the door frame. I raised my eyebrow at how comfortable he seemed. "Can I help you?" I asked the boy.
"I was just wondering if you were going to the quidditch match today..." he trailed off. A grin appeared on his lips as his eyes wandered up and down my body.
I smiled at his curiosity. He was pretty cute, but I needed to play as if I wasn't desperate, as if I wasn't sort of aching for male attention.
He and I had been briefly flirting back and forth with each other over the last couple of days, he was a major distraction from the Clayton drama, who finally wrote to me.
His letter was completely opposite of Rachels's. He didn't once mention seeing someone else. Though I knew he wouldn't own up to it. He'll never admit his faults even when called out on them. Instead, he just told me about how different things were without me around. I was sort of the center of our circle of friends.
I decided not to write him or tell him that I know what he's been up to. I'll wait until he comes to visit over the summer if he still planned to, and do it then.
I was free to do whatever I wanted. He didn't seem to have a problem with being with other girls, why should I have a problem with just flirting with another guy? It's not like we were together. Messing around doesn't qualify us as a couple. Not in my eyes at least.
"Yes, I'm going." I dryly responded while turning around to grab a coat and scarf to wear since it was pretty cold outside. I heard his footsteps follow behind me, pacing around my room. He stopped in front of my dresser and picked up a picture frame that had a photo of my friends Rachel, Clayton, Grant, and Archie. The five of us had just spent the evening partying in our dorms.
"Friends of yours?"
"Yes."
"Do you miss them?"
I sighed.
"More than you'll ever know."
"Anyways," He placed the picture back down and turned to face me. "I was wondering if you'd like to walk with me down to the pitch. If not, I completely un—"
"Yes." I eagerly responded. "Let me grab a pair of gloves and we can go," I did as I said, and we began towards the quidditch stadium together.
Along the way, once we exited the castle, he grabbed my hand and intertwined our fingers causing me to slightly blush. It was a cute l, unexpected gesture.
He lead me towards the dressing rooms which were just outside the stadium before unexpectedly pulling me inside.
"Cass, what are—" I was completely cut off by his face smashing against mine, connecting our lips. I pushed him back. "What are you doing?" I said in utter confusion.
"I just—I'm sorry. I thought you'd give me a good luck kiss before..." He trailed off, fluttering his eyes towards the walls. I chuckled slightly.
"You could have asked. I would have said yes." I replied. His face lit up while snapping back to mine.
