Draco's POV

Almost done. It's almost finished. It's been two days since Harry went home from St. Mungo's and he hasn't been doing well. His memories fade a little more each day. Sometimes he'll wake up and think he's back with the Dursley's before I remind him of what's happening. He still insists on going to work though, only on days he can remember that he's a professor in the first place.

The Daily Prophet got ahold of what's been going on with Harry and his condition has practically been broadcasted to all of Europe.

We've had to avoid public areas because of people now trying to invade in our private lives.

There even have been some rumors around that this whole curse thing has something to do with me. That I've somehow exploited Harry's condition for my own benefit to get close to him.

It's utterly ridiculous. I'm trying to save Harry's life. Not exploit him. I'm not evil and I'm not heartless. I care too much about Harry to even think about doing something like that.

Anyways, I just need to ignore them, at least until I can get this potion completed. That's my first and most important task.

It's nearing day break. I've spent the entire night here trying to finish it. With any luck it will be done either tomorrow or the day after.

Harry just has to hold out for a little bit longer.

However, for the time being, there's nothing else I can do. The potion has to simmer for another fifteen hours. I'll have to leave it here for the time being.

Today is also an important day. It's Teddy's birthday and out of all the birthdays he's ever had, this will probably be the toughest.

When Harry and I asked Teddy what he wanted to do a couple of weeks ago, he said he wanted to spend as much time with Harry as possible. He especially became persistent after Harry started losing his memories.

So the plan for later today is for Harry, Teddy, Scorpius, and I to go out for lunch. We've decided to avoid any wizarding places and will go to a muggle restaurant to avoid attention. Afterwards, we have worked out to visit a couple of creatures that Teddy has always wanted to see in person such as a hippogriff, a niffler, a unicorn, and a phoenix being a few. Blaise works as a Magizoologist and has helped Harry and I plan this for Teddy. We'll then come back home to have dinner and cake with the family.

I stood up from my seat beside the potion and dusted off anything that may have fallen on me as I worked. I also stretched my back and rubbed my neck because it had grown stiff from sitting in one position for so long.

Everyone will be up soon, so I better get home.

------------

"He doesn't remember, does he?" Teddy asked me while the majority of the family sat in the dining room for breakfast. Harry currently is asleep in the bedroom.

"Teddy, he may not remember what day it is, but he hasn't forgotten how important you are to him." I told him.

He sighed. "I know. It's just. He's never forgotten and I know it's not his fault, but it doesn't feel right."

"Teddy, Harry loves you and when he wakes up I promise we'll remind him that it's your birthday. We have the whole day planned out and everything." Hermione joined in.

"He even got you a gift specifically for today." I told him, hoping to cheer him up.

Teddy looked up at me "What? How? His memory has been fading more and more every day."

"You should know your father better than that. He already prepared your gift weeks in advance in case something did happen."

Teddy looked down at his lap, his hair turning black. It seems what I said had not cheered him up in the slightest. "What is it Teddy?" Scorpius asked.

"The only gift I want for my birthday is for my dad to be better, instead of fearing that he will die within the next few days." Teddy said a bit loudly. Ron and George had immediately stopped their conversation and whipped their heads to face Teddy.

Arthur dropped his fork he was using for his waffles, and everyone else seemed to shrink back at Teddy's comment, taking in what he had said.

"I'm doing the best I can, Teddy. I'll do everything I can to get your father well again. I promise." I told him.

"I know, I'm sorry, it's just not fair. Why did this have to happen to him? Why did this have to happen to us? None of us deserve it, especially not dad and yet, here we all are. Suffering, for no good reason."

He makes a good point. No one deserves to suffer like this, especially not Harry, not after everything he's already been through. Between losing his parents, being raised in a horrible environment, a psychopath trying to kill him nearly every year at Hogwarts, losing so many friends and family, Harry deserves it the least.

"What's going on?" Harry came swinging around the corner, pushing his glasses up with one hand so the other could rub the sleep out of his eyes.

"Good morning, Harry. How are you?" Molly asked standing up and giving him a hug.

"Tired, but fine. What day is it? Last thing I remember is being in the Gryffindor tower, how'd we get here so suddenly?" He asked, now fixing his glasses properly on his face and gazing at all of us.

His eyes landed on me before his eye brows furrowed and he frowned deeply. "What the hell is Malfoy doing here?" He asked abruptly.

"He's a guest, Harry." Arthur said.

"A guest? He's a death eater. We can't trust him." He sneered.

I turned away from him, trying to hide the hurt in my eyes.

"No, Harry. That was a very long time ago. Draco is not a death eater. He's one of us." Hermione explained.

"Since when? He hasn't done anything to gain our trust."

"He has. You just don't remember." Ron intervened.

"What are you on about, Ron? You probably hate him more than I do."

"I used to, but your efforts has helped changed my mind." Ron stated.

"What do you mean?"

"Sit down, Harry. We need to talk." Molly directed him to a seat and they began explaining everything to him once again.

This is the first time he has not remembered who I am to him. It frightens me, but it also hurts. I know it's not his fault, but it definitely makes me regret everything I've done even more.

As they continued the story, I stayed silent, knowing my input at the moment won't help anything. Molly placed some food in front of Harry, but he refused as he listened intently.
