Draco's POV
To say I was nervous is an understatement. It's Sunday and I'm freaking out.
How is everyone going to react to Harry bringing me along for their weekly cup of tea? What if things go sour? What if they all still hate my guts?
"Dad? Stop freaking out. Everything's gonna be fine." I looked down towards Scorpius. We're walking to the front doors of Harry's house when I froze.
I nodded my head towards my son and proceeded to walk to the door.
Teddy swung it open instantly and hugged Scorpius. "Hey Scorp! I'm so excited for you to meet my family! Well they're not exactly my family, but I consider them that none the less." He said excitedly.
Scorpius seemed absolutely thrilled as well. "So am I. I've heard a lot from Harry and dad, so I can't wait to meet everyone."
"Where is Harry?" I asked looking down at Teddy.
"Oh, he's finishing getting ready, he'll be out in a minute." He said.
I nodded my head. Seconds later Harry came through the door and met the rest of us that were chilling outside.
He looked good. His hair was still unruly as ever, but he had a pair of black skinny jeans on and a white T-shirt that was covered by his black coat as it is the Christmas season and quite chilly out.
"Hey." He said smiling at me. I couldn't help but to smile back. "Ready?"
"As I'll ever be." I replied.
"You'll be fine. They'll love you." He said encouragingly. "But actually. I hate to do this now, but I didn't get a chance earlier. Can we talk for a second?" He asked in a low whisper.
I nodded. "Will you two be fine on your own for a moment?"
Teddy and Scorpius both looked up at me. "Yes, but hurry we want to get going!' Scorpius replied, Teddy nodding his head in agreement.
"We will." Harry told them both before he pulled me into the house. "I wanted to warn you."
I grew anxious at his use of time and words.
"Ron and I talked about what happened to him. Turns out some death eaters are at large right now and for some unknown reason, they're after the two of us."
My mouth gaped open. "What? Why?"
"I don't know. Hermione thinks it's someone we might know, but keep your guard up in case it's true. Up your wards on your house too. Just to be safe." I nodded my head in agreement. The last thing I want is for Scorpius to get hurt.
Harry and I left the house and went back to our kids.
The four of us apparated and ended up in an alleway. "It's a muggle cafe so we had to apparate away from public view." Harry explained.
We followed him out of the alleyway and towards a cute little cafe called Tea for the Soul. It's absolutely charming.
The exterior design was a soft red with a mini garden, that at the moment only had lights seeing as flowers and stuff don't bloom because of cold temperatures, and several benches and tables for people to sit at.We all moved inside. It had a cozy feeling to it with just enough lighting around the room and several areas set up for large groups such as Harry's.
Harry grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the back of the room. The boys skipping joyously behind us.
In the back I noticed that most people came from Hogwarts except for two faces I did not recognize. I saw Ron, who still had a sling and a bandaged head, Hermione, Rose, Neville, a pregnant Luna, Seamus and Dean, Ginny and George. One face I didn't recognize was that of a tall man sat beside Ginny wearing a green t-shirt and a boy next to Seamus maybe about six years old.
"Hi guys!" Harry shouted a broad smile across his face. Everyone turned to look at the four of us. "Uhm. I don't know if I need to introduce you to anyone. All of us came from Gryffindor except for Luna who was in Ravenclaw, Ginny's fiance Dimitri, he's American, and Dean and Seamus' son Trevor." He said. They all smiled lightly towards me. "Oh and guys this is Draco's son Scorpius." He mentioned towards Scorpius who was next to me.
"Hey! Come sit!" Hermione greeted with a wide smile.
And so we did, Harry next to me and across from Hermione, I sat across from Luna and all the kids sat on my left, Scorpius the closest to me. All of the kids seemed to hit it off quite well. They were all laughing at Teddy pulling duck faces, pig faces, and any other animals face he could think of.
"It's nice to see you again, Draco." Luna was the first to speak to me.
"You as well, Luna, I see you're having a baby. Is it a boy or girl?" I engaged in conversation.
"It's a girl. She'll be coming out in about a month. I'm thoroughly excited."
"That's great to hear." I tell her.
"So Draco. Engaged in any dark magic?" George asked. I stopped. Was he being serious or just joking?
"George." Harry said tentatively.
"Just a curious question, no harm in it."
I straightened myself up before answering, not breaking eye contact for a second. "No. I haven't gone near it since the war." George smiled at me.
"Great." He said.
We all grew quiet except for the chattering children next to us.
Harry squeezed my hand. I didn't even realize he was still holding it.
"I uh-" I cleared my throat. "I would like to apologize to all of you for everything I did. I regret everything and hate the person I used to be more than anything. I would love it if we could all start out fresh. I know the things I did to all of you was horrible and unforgivable, but I have really tried in the last ten years to change. I was a horrible person back then and I hope you all can forgive me." I said honestly.
The table grew silent, even Teddy and Scorpius stopped their rambling and stared at me.
My nerves picked up, my hands became increasingly sweaty and my breathing hitched.
This was a bad idea. I knew it, I shouldn't have said yes.
"That's all we've ever wanted to hear." Ginny said. I looked up at her. She smiled lightly at me.
"We forgive you man, it's in the past." Seamus said.
"War did a number on all of us. I forgive you." Dean said.
"I've always forgiven you. No hard feelings yeah?" Neville said. I nodded towards him.
"We've lost too many people." George said. All eyes landed on him. "I lost my other half, I'll never be the same again. None of us will, but that doesn't mean that it's all negative. I know if Fred were here he would want us to move on. Life's too short to always hold on to grudges. It's not worth it. So, I forgive you." Ginny pulled him in a hug.
"Thank you. All of you. You have no idea how this makes me feel. I'm sorry for all the losses the war caused, none of them deserved to be stripped away from all of you and none of you deserve to have to live with the loss either."
They all smiled at me and I could only return the gesture.
