They all stared at me.
Problem solved.
"I'm so sorry, everyone. But, it seems as though the sugar has vanished," I grabbed a cup of water of the table, "and dissolved."
"You stupid, careless, selfish, stinking brat!" Esme burst out with fury and grabbed me by the throat, pushing me against the wall.
The others started standing on the last particles of sugar, pushing it in between the floorboards.
"You're just like every other Snicket, meddling with business that isn't theirs! Messing with the wrong people and underestimating their enemies!" She yelled.
"I'm not just..any old Snicket, Ms Squalor..." I was struggling to breathe, "I'm Charlotte...Frankie Snicket....and I'm here to stop fires, maybe mess with wrongdoers and fight...but most importantly...make a team so I am not alone.."
She squeezed tighter, "you're going to die like your Mother did, if not here and now, you understand?"
"I'd join her in the good place, while...you in the bad..bad place.."
"Oh really? You've killed people while I-"
"Have become greedy.."
She glared at me, "don't push it."
I looked behind her and saw Earnest grabbing on to Klaus's neck, "Please, just-"
"Just what?"
"Let us go."
"Why?"
I couldn't talk.
"Is it our sweetheart, Snicket? Are you worried he's going to die?"
I stared at Klaus, "just please!"
Violet and Beatrice was being annoyed by Carmelita, poor her.
The duo were just poking Sunny like she was a specimen in am experiment.
Esme let go eventually, I fell to the ground coughing for breath.
Earnest let go of Klaus, "what's wrong, Esme?"
She had my spyglass.
I screamed, "No! Give it back! P-please give it back!"
Esme turned back to me, "why should I ever do that? It has something I, well us, want."
Was it the note? I mean, nothing was on that note, just a book a quote and a name. It was nothing important.
She opened up the lense, letting the small note fall out.
"No, no please!" I begged, "it's from my Mother, please!"
"Just what we wanted." She grabbed the note and gave it to the duo.
"Amazing." The lady smiled.
"How did she know it was there?" The man asked.
"I won't say a word." I vowed.
I got up and snatched my spyglass off of Esme.
"Give it!" Esme yelled.
"Why should I ever do that?" I quoted, smiling.
"It seems as though the Snickets and the Baudelaires have known each other for a while." The lady sighed.
"Too long." The man finished.
I crawled over to Klaus and grabbed his hand, I was worried.
He put his arm over my shoulder and his head on mine.
"Maybe we should split the group, maybe they could lose one." Esme smiled.
"Snicket, I want her dead!" Carmelita smiled enthusiastically.
Klaus's grip tightened around me, pulling me closer, "no."
"Carmelita, stop that! We're not ruining a... relationship." Esme sighed, glaring at us both.
"Violet." Carmelita said sulking.
"Beatrice." The lady smiled.
I stared, "no. She's just a baby."
But, the lady already grabbed Beatrice from Violet.
"No, no, please!" I teared up, trying to get up and grab her, but the man got his knife out and pointed it straight at me. Klaus pulled me back.
"Kill the child." The man said.
"Don't you dare!" I yelled.
The lady got out her knife.
"This is fun." Carmelita clapped.
"It is." Esme agreed laughing.
Klaus kissed me, trying to calm me down, it wasn't helping much.
I closed my eyes and hugged Klaus closer, so I couldn't see even if I wanted to.
All I heard was the loud cries of a baby grow louder, Sunny scream and Violet hug me and Klaus too.

Four hours later
"Oh my god..." I kept muttering under my breath, we were in the cab now, I was in a state of shock.
They did it. They really did it.
We'd ran off as soon as we could, I couldn't so Klaus carried me.
Everybody else was silent.
I was driving still, driving to nowhere. The only sanctuary we had was Prufrock Prep or we'd have to endure a year or so with Fiona. I couldn't bare that.
"Does everybody still have their...uniform?" I asked, stuttering.
Nobody answered, I went quiet.
Klaus sat next to me, he was looking at the ground, he shut the privacy window.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Are you sure you're ready to endure this, Charlotte? You don't seem well enough."
"I'm fine, Klaus. I promise."
"It's too soon to go."
"Maybe so, but I'm down for a challenge." I smiled, trying to reassure him that I was okay.
"I'm worried about you ever since that-"
"I'm okay, Klaus." I smiled.
"Turn around. We're going to Fiona." Klaus said.
"No, why?"
"Because going to Prufrock is the most easiest place they can get us."
"Klaus, Fiona-"
"Is hard to put up with, but Charlotte. We have got to take risks sometimes."
I turned the car around, "Klaus."
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you too."
