Mahiru and Me walked to the supermarket to just look at the good's and services but were surprised to see Akane there also
"Ah damn.. Most of this isn't even food! What's a gal supposed to eat..." Akane said sadly from a different isle
"Akane? Are you looking for something specific?" Mura asked the hungry girl, locating the isle she was on
"Yea! I'm starved!" Akane said, patting her belly to emphasize her statement
"Not to be rude, but didn't you have breakfast this morning?" Mahiru asks, hoping to not come off as offensive
"Well... Yeah... But from where I come from, you never know when your last meal will be! So you always gotta have food or you have the chance to not eat for days!" Akane explains casually with a grin
"Oh! Wait can you hold that smile?" Mahiru asks Akane as she gets her camera out
Akane did as told, holding the smile she had for Mahiru's photo, the image being taken successfully
"So... Why'd you need me to do that?" Akane asked awesomely, achieving alliteration (Nice 😎😎😎)
"O-oh! I guess that was kind of weird. Since you shared that thing about your past I wouldn't mind sharing mine... So...My home life wasn't terrible? But there weren't many smiles... So anytime there was a genuinely happy smile I would take a picture... Seeing people happy and capturing it forever is sort of my meaning in life!" Mahiru says with a smile of her own
That charmed Mura and Akane. Truly showing that everyone here has a reason to go home and get out of here...
But Mura couldn't go back. Not after what She did.. She'd rather be here...
"Mura? Earth to Mura! You doing okay?" Akane asks, waving her hand in front of mura's face to get her attention
"H-huh? Oh! My Apologies I totally spaced out there..." Mura apologized with a bow
"Ah! No worries! But back on topic, Akane, what were you even looking for in the first place?" Mahiru asks, reminding Akane why she was here
"Right! I was looking for baking powder! Or was it soda? Well either way I need one of those because Sonia sent me here to get cake ingredients! And as it turns out I had gotten the wrong baking thing... But on my way here I got hungry and my hunger caused me to forget if I needed baking Powder or soda! Clearly, you see my issue." Akane said, worriedly
"My mother never cooked much, but from what I remember from our chef, baking soda makes a cake rise faster than baking powder. maybe you needed soda?" Mura suggests to Akane
"Right! I needed soda! Thanks, Mura! Oh, You two wanna come to bake with me and Sonia? I could invite the other girls and it could be a fun little girl's night!" Akane asks, wondering what their answers could be
Both girls agreed basically without hesitation. They both thought that baking a cake with the other girls would be great to spread hope around the island
Akane nodded, excited that she would get some cake, and ran to the baking aisle and got what she needed
~After Akane got the baking soda and some chips for the walk there~
"So.. Is the only difference between baking soda and baking powder that baking soda is stronger? So then why does baking powder exist?" Mahiru asks as mura and Akane walked with her
"Well some recipes call for baking powder because baking soda is too much for it, but in general I just prefer soda," Mura says with a shrug as the girls kept walking
