DARYL HAD BEEN GONE a lot longer than lilac felt comfortable with. glenn went off an hour or two ago while lilac stayed playing guitar on the porch.
she knew a few elvis songs, along with michael jackson. but she just couldn't seem to concentrate, so she decided to go retrieve her book from dales RV.
"— how do you know that maggie wanted to have sex with you?" dale asked at the same exact time lilac stepped inside. "what is it with me and walking into conversations of you and maggie having sex?" lilac laughed as she grabbed her book from the table.
"oh son you didn't? did it ever occur to you how her father would feel?" dale asked glenn. "well let's hope he feels nothing if you know what i mean." lilac joked but no one found it funny, so she just nodded and decided to walk outside.
"walker!" shouted andrea. "just the one?" rick asked as he ran towards the RV. "i bet i can nail it from here." andrea said as she brought the scope to her eye line.
"andrea, you pull that trigger you are a dead woman walking!" lilac growled. "you'd best let us handle it." shane said walking out of his tent, pickaxe in hand. "shane, hold up. hershel wants to deal with walkers." rick told him but shane wasn't in a listening mood
"what for man? we got it covered." he said as he t-dog and glenn began running down the field towards the lone walker.
the grimes siblings cursed at shane's impulsive thinking and ran after them. "is that daryl?" glenn asked as they all became closer. lilac felt her heart sink at the thought of him being a walker.
"that's the third time you've pointed that thing at my head. ye gonna pull the trigger or what?" daryl spat as he struggled to stay on his two feet. "thank god." lilac said relieved he wasn't one of the infected.
"how the hell did ye get back 'ere alr—"daryl began but he was cut off by a billet zipping in the air. "no!" lilac screamed as she saw daryls body fall to the ground. she quickly knelt beside him examining his head. relieved to see it only grazed him.
"i was kidding.." daryl slurred as his head fell back into lilac's hands. "come on." rick said as he and shane came to daryl's side to carry him. "oh my god, oh my god. is he dead?" andrea worriedly questioned lilac as she and dale ran down the field.
"you best get out my face or i will put you six feet under." lilac spat at the blonde. "unconscious, you just grazed him." rick told her. "but look at him! what the hell happened? he's wearing ears!" glenn shrieked as he saw the necklace upon his neck.
"let's keep that to ourselves." rick said harshly as he yanked the necklace hiding it in his shirt.
lilac turned her head over her shoulder and noticed something in the grass. "guys, isn't this sophias?" lilac asked as she held up a toy doll.

"I FOUND IT washed up on the creek bed right there — daryl pointed to the map laid on the bed while hershel stitched him up — she must have dropped it crossing there somewhere." he told rick and lilac.
"cuts the grid almost in half." rick turned to lilac who nodded in agreement. "yeah, yer welcome." daryl said sarcastically. "i had no idea we'd be going through antibiotics so quickly." hershel sighed as he finished stitching daryl up.
"i'll make a run tomorrow, maggie can show me." lilac told him and hershel sent a thankful nod her way. "any idea what happened to my horse?" hershel asked as he turned towards daryl.
"yeah, the one who almost killed me? if it's smart, it left the country." daryl replied not even glancing at hershel. "we call that one nelly, nelly as in nervous nelly. i could have told you she'd throw you if you had bothered to ask. it's a wonder you people have survived this long." he sighed as he walked out of the room.
rick began to follow hershel allowing daryl to rest but lilac had other plans. "you coming?" rick asked his sister who stayed stood where she was. "i'll catch up with you at dinner." lilac told him, reluctantly he nodded and closed the door behind him.
"daryl?" lilac called out. "what ya want." he spat harshly. "before andrea shot you, you said something to me..." lilac trailed off trying to find the right words. he only grunted in response clearly not wanting to talk about it.
"you asked how i already got back here, but i never left the farm...what happened out there?" she pushed wanting an answer. "ain't none of ya fuckin business." he spat sending a glare.
she got the message and quickly left the room, with a horrible feeling forming at the pit of her stomach. meanwhile daryl laid in the bed, wondering why he saw both lilac and merle at the creek bed.

"DALE FOUND A cool guitar, lilac can play. can anyone else?" glenn brought up as everybody except daryl sat for the dinner that carol had made.
there was an awkward silence. "otis did." patricia sighed beside hershel. "yes, and he was very good." hershel comforted the widow.
"lilac? could you take this up to daryl please?" carol asked kindly as she held a plate of food. "sure, but uh...why me?" lilac asked as she stood from her chair. carol didn't reply, she just sent her a wink and then returned to her seat.
"how are you feeling?" lilac asked as she walked into his room with the plate of food. "as good as i look." he said as he kept trying to bring the sheets over his back.
"carol wanted you to have this." she said placing the plate on the bed side table. "mhm." daryl grunted in response without looking at her.
sighing, lilac began to walk to the door. the floor slightly creaking. "i saw ye." daryl said keeping his gaze away from lilac. "saw ye n merle at the creek bed." he told her.
"you should rest." lilac told him not wanting to make him feel vulnerable or uncomfortable. stepping out into the porch, she sighed looking out into the darkness of the fields.
before she could even have time to think about what daryl told her. the quick footsteps and pants of glenn caught her attention.
"glenn!" lilac whisper yelled not wanting to alarm anyone in the house. "walkers. walkers in the barn." he breathed out trying to catch his breath.
