THE NEXT MORNING lilac sat beside daryl as they ate their breakfast. as soon as rick barged into her tent lilac could tell he knew about lori. daryl left as soon as rick entered not wanting to be involved i. what he thought would be a 'sibling quarrel'.

"did you know?" rick repeated infront of his sister. "only just, today." she sighed. "we both know it's not mine lilac." rick said, his voice breaking. "and we both know you will be the one to bring that child up." said lilac. "i can't, i don't know—" rick stuttered. "— you have me." lilac smiled sadly at her older brother, shrugging her shoulders. rick nodded and brought his sister into a hug.

lilac kept glancing at the group. the guilt was beginning to build up in her stomach. she wasn't sure how long she was over thinking. but daryl gently kicked her foot with his pulling her out of it. "ya good?" he asked quietly, not wanting attention from anyone else in the group. lilac nodded sending him a small smile.

rick watched the two interact once again, remembering seeing daryl in his little sisters tent last night. he wondered to himself, if more was going on between the small glances daryl and lilac would send eachother.

"um guys." glenn called out as he walked towards the group. "so...the barn is full of walkers." he sighed. daryl glanced towards lilac and carl, a sudden wave of worry coming over them. knowing now, that they were indeed not safe here. and for some reason, he cared for them two most.

_____

GROWLS EMITTED FROM the barn as the two wooden doors were pushed against from inside. chains being the only thing keeping the walkers in. "you cannot tell me you're alright with this!" shane scowled at rick as he peered through the wooden cracks on the barn. "no i'm not! but we're guests here! this isn't our land." rick spat, lilac could tell the tension between the two was rising rapidly.

"this is our lives!" barked shane. "lower your voice." glenn whisper yelled in pure worry. "we can't just sweep this under the rug." andrea sighed. "it ain't right. not remotely. okay, we've either got to go in there, we've got to make things right or we've just got to go. now we have been talking about fort benning for a long time." shane said to rick.

"we can't go!" rick spat as he took a step towards shane. "why rick? why?" pushed shane taking a step fowards. "because my daughters still out there." carol spoke up. "okay, okay. i think it's time that we all start to consider the other possibility." shane said rattling up the whole group. "we're not leaving sophia behind!" yelled rick, his voice laced in venom.

"i'm close to finding this girl. i just found her damn doll two days ago!" daryl growled as he took a few steps towards shane. "you found her doll, daryl. that's what you did. you found a doll." replied shane. "ya don't know what the hell ya talking about." daryl raised his voice getting dangerously close to shane, too close for lilacs liking.
