"ARE YOU SURE this is the right road?" Lilac asked Lori as she glanced at the map in her hands. "yes i'm sure lilac." Lori said quickly as the two drove along the road.

"i'm pretty sure you was meant to turn back ther-" Lilac began but was cut off by Lori snatching the map. "right there — Lori pointed — we're on the right road." She huffed. Looking back towards the road a lone walker was stumbling towards the car. "lori turn!" Lilac shouted.

The car turned, along with a few twists and rolls. Lilac felt her head forcefully hit against the glass window. But before she could even register what was happening, her world turned dark. all she could hear was the faint calls from Lori.

Until the lights went out.

DARYL WAS SITTING at his own camp. Isolating himself from the others. After having Lori on his case about looking for the others, he rudely turned her down. After seeing Sophia, realising he wasted his time looking.

He was done looking for people. He didn't need anybody, that's what he told himself. But a part of himself knew he was lying, and every time his thoughts would run free.

One person would come to mind, Lilac.

But his quiet moment was soon cut short at the sound of footsteps, followed by the sigh of carol. "We can't find Lori, and the others aren't back yet either." Said carol as she approached his own camp, "Yeah. That dumb bitch must've gone looking for 'em." Daryl grunted.

"What?" Asked Carol in confusion. "Yeah, she asked me to go. I told 'er I was done being an errand boy."

"And you didn't say anything!? — she snapped — don't do this, please. I've already lost my little girl." Carol said softly. "That wasn't my problem either." He snarled.

"So I'm guessing Lilac isn't either?" Carol pushed. Lifting up his head, he finally met her eye to eye. "The hell ya talkin 'bout?" He raised his voice.

"We can't find Lilac either, we thought she might be with you. But it's clear she isn't." As Carol spoke something flared up inside Daryl. As much as he wanted to deny it, he cared for Lilac more than he planned too.

Daryl immediately stood from where he previously was sat. Rushing to find his crossbow, he paid no attention to Carol. As he turned on his feet he came face to face with her.

"What are you doing?" He questioned stepping towards her. "God. Keeping an eye on you." She jumped. "Ain't you a peach." He said, everyone word laced with sarcasm. "I'm not gonna let you pull away. You've earned your place, I know it. Lilac definitely knows it." Carol told him.

"If you spent half your time minding your daughters business instead of sticking your nose in everybody else's, she'd still be alive!" He snapped. "Go ahead."

But before Daryl could even ask what the hell she was insinuating, the sound of Shane's truck pierced through the air. "Oh my god, are you all alright? What happened?" Came Andrea's voice. "We was in an accident, I'm fine..." She drawled out.

"Where's Lilac?" Daryl said, not hiding his concern nor irritation. "They was attacked." Came Shane's voice as he carried a limp one.

A limp body that belonged to Lilac.

"Look where's Rick? We need Hershel to check on Lilac." Said Lori, but the silence of everyone else answered her question. "Pass me Lilac." Daryl demanded as he walked towards Shane. No one could make out how he was feeling.

"Look, I had to get you back here. As well as Lilac." Shane justified with his now empty hands. Daryl didn't hear the rest of the upcoming argument. He was far too concentrated on getting Lilac inside the house.

THE FOLLOWING morning, Lilac's eyes fluttered open. Taking in her surrounding, she was blinded by the natural light seeping through the blinds. She recognised the room as the same one Carl had to stay in.

A shiver trailed down her spine thinking of everything he had to go through. A thumping was present in her head but she ignored it anyways, attempting to sit herself up.

As she tried, the weight of a small arm around her waist stopped her. On her left laid a sleeping carl, cuddled into her side. "Wouldn't leave ya side." Said a familiar voice causing Lilac to almost jump out of her skin.

"Fuck, announce yourself next time." She sighed as she faces Daryl. But she couldn't help the smile that lit up her face. "Comfortable night sleep?" She asked in her usual playful tone.

"Didn't sleep 'ere." He grunted in embarrassment. Although it was clear he did in fact sleep in that uncomfortable arm chair, Lilac dropped or not wanting to bring him out of his comfort zone.

"How did i get here anyways?" She asked. "Shane brought ya back. Maggie said ya hit ya head pretty bad. But without Hershel wasn't much we could do." He explained to her.

"Rick's not back yet?" Lilac asked in pure worry as she glanced down towards Carl then back up to Daryl. "They'll be back." He told her.

And all she could do was hope he was right.
