EIGHTEEN || 2YEON

CHAPTER ONE

Jeongyeon's POV

I leaned back my chair looking at my laptop. I just got here in Korea 3 months ago and there's already a lot of work to do. But atleast this is lesser than the ones I handle in America and I have a nice secretary, not like that lazy American girl. I heard my tummy rumble. I looked at the time and it's almost lunch time. Guess that's why I'm hungry. I haven't eaten anything since this morning.

I turned my laptop off and grabbed my coat hanging behind my chair. I was fixing my coat on me when I heard my secretary talking to one of my workers outside. I just stood there looking at my secretary and the girl she's talking to through the mirror. I can see what they're doing outside but they can't see me here inside my office.

"Sowon-ssi, here's the papers you told me to finish." The girl said with a smile.

"That fast?" Sowon asked and took the papers

"It was just a few and oh, could I go early today? Something came up at the house." The girl said

"Oh sure, let me ask boss first." Sowon said and walked towards my office door. She knocked on the door and was about to open it but I held into the knob so she won't open it. I slightly opened the door so she can here what I will say.

"Let her." I said. Sowon walked back to the girl.

"He said it was all okay. You're indeed boss favorite Nayeon." Sowon chuckled

"Favorite my ass. I haven't even saw him even once. Anyways, I have to go." Nayeon said. Yes it was Nayeon. It was such a coincidence that she works at our company and you could see that she matured so much during the years. I mean 15 years was long enough. She doesn't know that I'm her boss because, I don't have the strength to show my face to her after leaving her all hanging. Call me a coward but I don't know how to face her yet. I left her 15 years ago and I can't just show myself to her just like that, like nothing happened. I walked out of my office to talk to my secretary and buy lunch.

"Schedule." I said

"Mr. Joon cancelled your meeting with him and moved it to next week. You just have to sign and review some papers, that's all for today." Sowon said and I just nodded. "Oh and Ms. Joy-"

"No, tell her I am still busy." I cut her off

"I knew you would say that but the CEO of TW entertainment wants to have lunch with you today to talk about some important matters." Sowon said.

"Could that be move? I want to have a rest atleast for lunch." I said and frowned.

"It was a short notice sir and said it was urgent." Sowon said

"Then go meet the CEO. Tell them I'm busy." I said and was about to leave

"But sir, Ms. Park wants to meet you personally and she said she's not taking a no for an answer." Sowon said. All I could do is sigh.

"Send me the address where she wants to meet me. I'll go now." I said and walked towards the elevator. I arrived at the parking lot and walked towards my car. I rested my back at my car and sighed.

"I wish I could change everything I did in the past." I said out in the air.

"You look so tired young man." I almost fell when someone spoke

"You scared me madam." I said to the old lady which just chuckled at my reaction.

"Pardon me for scaring you. Here eat this it might help you with your stress." She said and gave me a piece of candy which I gladly accepted and placed it in my pocket.

"Thank you. But what are you doing here in the parking lot all alone?" I asked

"My son works here and I just dropped off to give him his food here in the parking. I have to go now young man. Goodluck in your work and life." She said before walking. She's kinda creepy to be honest. I just shrugged it off and grabbed my keys from my pocket and ride my car. I drove to the location Sowon sent me. I arrived at the destination and it was an Asian Restaurant. I walked in the restaurant to be met by a waiter.

"Do you have a reservation sir?" The waiter asked.

"Uhm I'm with Ms. Park." I said

"Oh, right this way sir." The waiter led me to a somewhat VIP room. "She's waiting for you inside."

"Thank you." I said. I held the knob and twisted it open. For some reasons I'm very nervous opening this door. I don't even know who's the CEO of TW entertainment. I pushed it open and saw a girl with shoulder hair length by the window looking outside. She was facing her back at me so I can't see her face. I fake cough to get her attention.

"I'm sorry, am I late?" I asked. The person turned around shocking me.

"You're always late." She said with a small smile. I was frozen.

"JIHYO!?" I asked. "What are you doing here?"

"Stupid, I'm the CEO." She rolled her eyes at me. "I miss you, idiot. Where have you been?

" Jihyo walked towards me and hugged me

"I- uh-" I can't form any sentence right now. I don't have any plans on meeting her yet.

"Let's sit first." Jihyo said and went ahead to sit. I just sat down quietly infront of her.

"So what do you want to talk about Ms. Park?" I asked formally

"You want me to smack you in the head? Stop acting so formal." Jihyo glared at me

"Look Jihyo, I don't know how to act infront of you right now. It's been years since I last saw you and-"

"15 years to be exact. You left without saying a single shit. I should be mad at you! But I can't. Do you know what happened to Nayeon unnie after you left? She was broken you shithead. Now explain." Jihyo said sternly. I just looked down. I really messed up before.

"It's really complicated Jih." I said and sighed. I looked up to her. "I don't know what to do."

"Talk to her Jeongyeon, it's been years. She needs you. Not just unnie but-" Jihyo stopped for a second. "You'll know when you see her."

"Yujin. Our daughter. Nayeon works at our company. She doesn't know I'm the CEO there." I said

"You could have talked to her all this time yet you just stayed hidden!?"

"Hey, I just came back 3 month ago and I don't know how to talk to her. What do you want I'll just go infront of Nayeon and be like 'hey, I'm back I miss you.' She's mad at me Hyo." I said and leaned back to my chair. I'm so stressed right now

"I can't say that she's mad at you and I didn't say anything you talk to her like that. Just make things right. You're already a grown up man." Jihyo said teasingly. I chuckled at her

"How are you?" I asked. We started to talk about each other while eating. Basically catching up with each others life. She would casually tell things about Nayeon's daughter.

"She's so much like you Jeong." Jihyo said

"I know. A troublemaker." I said. We finished eating and payed the bills before going out.

"Here's my number. Call me if you need help." Jihyo said and gave me her number. "Oh and the others will be home from Japan probably by the end of the month. So make sure to talk with Nayeon because I'll setup a catch up session" She winked at me.

"Yeah sure, I'll handle it." I smiled at her. "I gotta go. I still need to do some office works." I said

"Okay, bye." Jihyo said.

"Bye Jih." I said and went to my car. So I went back to my office and finish my unfinished works. While doing my work I remember the candy that the lady gave me. I ate it and examined its wrapper. I haven't saw this candy before but it tastes good. I continued my work not until I feel sleepy. I turned my laptop off and pushed it aside before resting my head on the table. I just think of random thoughts and what to tell Nayeon when we see each other before I fell asleep.
