CHAPTER NINE

Nayeon's POV

"Where's Jeong?" I asked Chae since we're here in the cafeteria, eating lunch and Jeongyeon is nowhere to be found.

"He said he's not hungry so he'll just sleep in the garden." Chaeyoung said. Jeongyeon has been ignoring me since yesterday, I don't know what's with him.

"I'll go check on him." I said and grabbed my bag and the sandwich that I bought for him.

"Don't be late for our next class!" Jihyo said before I walked out. I walked towards the garden and saw a sleeping Jeongyeon by the tree. I quietly went to him and sat down beside him. I saw he was holding a piece of paper and I was to grab it when he suddenly woke up.

"Oh, what are you doing here?" He asked me. Jeongyeon was about to stand up but I grabbed his arm.

"Stop ignoring me please." I said while pouting.

"I'm not ignoring you, I'm just... busy." He said and sat back down beside me and hid the piece of paper in his bag.

"Let me please atleast spend my time with you while we're still here. I missed my bestfriend." I said but the truth is I miss him for real, not just as my bestfriend. "Here eat."

"I'm not hungry." He said

"Just eat it." He looked at the sandwich and looked at me. Jeongyeon sighed before grabbing the sandwich and ate it. "So how's your date with Kyungsoo?" You can hear the irritation in his voice.

"Hmm it was fun. Not as bad as I think it is." I said and just looked up the sky.

"So you're going on a date with him again?" Jeongyeon asked again

"I don't think so. I don't want to get into a relationship again." I said honestly. Jeongyeon just hummed in response. There was a few seconds of silence between the both of us.

"Let's go. Classes will start any second now." Jeongyeon said and stood up grabbing both of our bags and bringing it. I just smiled and jumped up before clinging onto his arms.

"Oh are they dating?"

"They look so cute together."

"I thought Nayeon was dating Kyungsoo."

"Yeah, I saw them on a date tomorrow and Kyungsoo said they are official already."

"Nayeon with the two campus crush how lucky."

We heard a several of whispering while walking through their hallways. What are they saying? I'm not dating Kyungsoo.

"Are you uncomfortable?" Jeongyeon asked and intertwined his hands with mine. I looked at our hands before answering.

"No. It's fine." I said

"Just tell me if you're uncomfortable to what they're saying and I'll tell them to stop." Jeongyeon said smiling and I just nodded. We were near the entrance of our room when we saw Kyungsoo.

"Nayeon." He called out

"What a great way to ruin the mood." Jeongyeon mumbled. I just looked at him and averted my gaze to Kyungsoo.

"Do you need anything?" I asked

"Can we talk?" He asked

"Go ahead inside. I'll follow you." I said to Jeongyeon and he just nodded

"The rumors spreading about us dating. I'm sorry, it was the boys who said that you're my girlfriend." He said once Jeongyeon was gone.

"There's rumors about us?" I asked

"Yeah I'm very sorry about that and could I ask a favor?" Kyungsoo asked

"What is it?" I asked

"Could you uhm just go with the flow? Like act like my girlfriend." He said making me shock.

"Woah there, shouldn't we just tell them that it was false rumors?" I said

"Please Nayeon." He pleaded

"Okay let me first get straight to the point, I don't like you and I don't want to give you hope when I agree to this." I said

"I know that. I just need your help. A few months of acting, then it'll be over." He said. I sighed cause what more can I do.

"You won't take a no for an answer, so I guess I have to do it." I said

"Thank you Nayeon! I owe you one!" He said and hugged me

"I uh hey, but know your limits." I said. He broke the hug and apoligized

"I have to go to my class." He said and I just nodded. I entered our classroom and was scared to see Jeongyeon by the door.

"You scared me." I said and he just ignored me going back to his sit. I walked towards my seat my seat which is beside him. "You heard us?"

"You can always say no to him." Jeongyeon said while writing something in his notebook

"It's just a simple favor it's fine." I said

"A SIMPLE NO IS EASY TO SAY NAYEON." He suddenly yelled making our classmates look at him. "You know what nevermind." I was about to answer him when our teacher arrived.

Jeongyeon's POV

classes just finished and I still feel guilty that I yelled at Nayeon earlier. My emotions got ahead of me again. I always need to remind myself that Nayeon isn't mine anymore and she will never be mine again. I just don't feel right when Kyungsoo is around her. I walked towards Nayeon to say sorry to her.

"Hey about earlier, I'm sorry I didn't know what gotten into me." I said looking down.

"It's fine. But you have to treat me ice cream." She said smiling

"Alright alright, let's go." I said while laughing. She's so childish. we went out our room and saw Kyungsoo outside.

"Hey Nayeon! I was wondering if we could go out on a date." He said. Nayeon looked at me and I just mouthed 'what' at her. I know she'll go out with that ugly guy again.

"Sorry Kyung, maybe next time." Nayeon said. She grabbed my arm and pulled me away from there.

"Why didn't you went out with your 'BOYFRIEND'?" I asked emphasizing the word boyfriend.

"Because you already invited me ice cream-"

"You asked for it." I cutted her off

"Well yeah and I don't like to go out with my BOYFRIEND." She said and faced me making me stop from walking

"What?"

"Say. Why are you so rilled up when Kyungsoo is around. Like you hate his whole being." She asked and I just walked ahead while she follows me.

"It's nothing." I said.

"Come on tell me." She insisted. I stopped walking and faced her. We were both shock on how our faces was so close to each other. I stepped back a little and fake coughed.

"I'll tell you someday." I said messing her hair.

"What like 15 years later?" She said rolling her eyes

"Nope, before we go back. I promise I'll tell you." I said. "Let's go?" She linked her arms with me and we walked towards the ice cream shop. I'm really not ready to tell her. It's just very complicated. I don't know how to tell her that Kyungsoo is one of the reasons why I had to leave her.
