✑ᴀCHAPTER SEVEN - LOVEBIRDS
OCTOBER BROUGHT a wave of coolness to the halls of Hogwart. Autonomous leaves were piling up in the landscape of our school. It was a pretty sublime season. The change of colours in our surroundings was, in my opinion, what we could call magical. But the arrival of autumn promised several events for Hogwart this year. At the end of the month, there would be the arrival of the two other schools of Magic and the announcement of the tournament champions. It was pretty exciting to see who was going to compete in this game. Everyone was just discussing potential champions for their houses.
The end of the month also marked the traditional Halloween festivities. It was also an excuse for our house to have a huge party. My friends were already making arrangements for their costumes. On my behalf, I had written to Helene. She always had good suggestions on all fashionable matters. It should especially be added that Helene always had this desire to have a daughter. She was more than happy with her son, but I had understood well over the years that she took great pleasure in taking care of me and Emily like her own daughters. She loved to dress us up when we were young and she still did.
But also, the month of October heralded the arrival of a greater workload. All the lessons required more concentration due to the fact that there was more essays to be done. As I sat in Mr. Binns' classroom, I was seriously trying not to succumb to closing my eyelids. Even if the material was clearly more entertaining than last year, it seemed that the professor's tone was becoming further boring even though I wasn't sure if it could be possible. So it was only my interest in the class that kept me awake unlike Tracey and Blaise who let out soft snores at our desk. The Goblins' rebellion was the main topic for the year. I had only little knowledge of it and was still eager to learn more even if it meant putting up with Binns' tone. As the rang through the hall, the professor finally ended the class to the delight of most of the students who had fallen asleep on their desks.
"Don't forget your readings for next class. I also remind you that the essay on the government of Basil Flack during the rebellion is due for next week." Mr Binns insisted as I exited the room with my friends.
"Merlin, I hate this class," Tracey sighed on our way to the Great Hall. We arrived at the Slytherin table which was still peaceful.
"I couldn't agree more," Blaise added. I rolled my eyes at their complaints. We sat down next to Theodore who was currently reading a book by himself. "It's not so bad. It's Mr. Binns who's problematic," I retorted.
"Problematic you say? He's a pain in the ass, Rosie. Obviously, you were going to be gentle on him because you're a nerd." I rolled my eyes at Blaise as he smirked teasingly. Tracey and Theo snickered at our encounter and we instantly switched topics. The four of us were having lunch as Blaise re-encountered his flirting with Lisa Turpin, a Ravenclaw. While I was enjoying my potatoes, he continued to explain his strategy and how he had convinced her to study with him. But studying with Zabini only meant a potential snogging session.
