Thank you to everyone reading and supporting my story! :)

"Shit."

"Shit shit shit."

Soonyoung slowly opened his eyes, awoken by the sudden swearing. He looked around a bit, trying to figure out the source of the sound and his eyes eventually landed on the suit-clad man sitting to the left of him. The man was struggling to write down everything Dr. Lee was saying, pausing every few seconds to try to understand what he was writing.

Soonyoung watched as the man wrote as fast as he could, but eventually slammed his pen down on his notebook, and put his head in his hands, rubbing his eyes with his palms.

"Are...are you okay?" The man slowly looked up at Soonyoung.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." He picked up his notebook and flipped through the pages. "I just don't understand a damn word the man is saying."

"Are you a doctor? Intern?"

The man scoffed. "Lawyer."

"Then why are you even here?"

"I'm asking myself the same question." He looked back down at the papers and sighed. "My boss sent me here."

*Flashback*

The man could feel the beads of sweat trickling down his forehead as he put down the phone, the line dying.

"So which way?" A man dressed from head to toe in leather fiddled with a knife in his hand, and raised his eyebrow at the man sitting down at the desk. The man was trembling from fear, but tried his best to get coherent words out.

"All-all the way at the end of the hall. The two offices opp-opposite from each other." He pointed to the door on the left. "That-that one's off today and," pointing to the door on the right, "I just sent that on-one to a conference. He won't be ba-back for a while." The leather-clad man took a step closer to the desk, and the man curled up into a ball, covering himself with his arms. "Ple-please don't hurt me. I have a fam-family."

The man smirked. "Oh we know," he said, taking out a picture from his pocket and showing it to the man. His eyes widened, and he reached out to grab the picture from the man, but the man whisked it away, placing it back in his pocket. "You speak one word of this to anyone and see what happens to your daughters." He looked at the similarly leather-clad men stadning in the hallway and he gave them a slight nod, ponting two fingers in the direction of the offices.

"Let's go boys."

"So what are we looking for, boss?"

The leather-clad man, who was clearly the leader, sat in the office chair, laying back and putting his feet up on the desk. "Anything useful to us. Pictures, notes, case files, evidence. If it's useful, take a picture of it, but put it back."

"Wouldn't it just be easier to take it with us and destroy it?"

The boss raised an eyebrow at the man. "And show our cards like that? Pfft, you really are a rookie. Whatever they've collected, it's probably backed up to one of these here computers." The man roughly smacked the monitor on the desk, and it wobbled slightly, but didn't fall. "We just need to know how much they know. We can take care of it from there." The man felt his phone vibrate, so he took his feet off of of the desk and fished it from his jacket pocket. As he was about to answer the call, he looked at the others, who had stopped what they were doing.
"Get back to work!" he growled, and then picked up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Did you find anything?" a deep voiced asked.

The man's posture suddenly straightened as he put the phone closer to his ear. "Boss! We're looking, boss! Some of us are searching Lee Jihoon's office, and I and some others are searching a-" he peered our out at the door to see the name written on it, "a Choi Seungcheol's office."

"Good. He's the one that worked the case the last time, so look carefully there."

"Yes boss!" The man was about to hit the big red button on his phone when he heard his boss say one last thing.

"And don't leave a trace. You mess this up and you're the newbies' target practice tomorrow. Understood?"

Fear filled the man's eyes as he nodded vigorously, ignoring the fact that the man on the other line couldn't see him, and the line went dead with a crackle.

Jeonghan twisted open the cap of his ice-cold juice as he slid into a seat across Soonyoung in the cafeteria. "Can you believe we only have a week left?" Jeonghan twirled around in his seat. "One. More. Week. Then we're finally doctors. Real doctors. Full-fledged doctors."

Soonyoung finished chewing the bit of sandwich in his mouth before speaking. "I know right! Then we're finally freeeeeee." Soonyoung imitated a bird, flapping his arms about and Jeonghan burst out into a loud laugh. "I just can't believe I passed the boards. I was not ready to do this all over again. Never."

"I know right," Jeonghan replied. Just as he was about to take anotber sip of his drink, Jeonghan heard a familiar beeping. Sliding his pager off of the waistband of his scrubs, he began reading the message. At the same time, Soonyoung heard his pager go off too. They looked at each other with tired eyes and took a breath.

"One more week," Soonyoung said.

"One more week," Jeonghan repeated.

And they were off, leaving an uncapped juice bottle and a half-eaten sandwich behind.

                              ~

Jeonghan stripped off the sticky, blood-soaked scrubs as soon as he could, eager to get into clean clothes. Surgery after surgery had left him exhuasted, and all he wanted to do was go home and get into a warm bath. Thankfully, his shift was over. Throwing on his regular clothes and his warm coat, Jeonghan made his way to the nurses' station to clock out.

"Done for the day Dr. Yoon?" Chan enquired.

"Yup!" Jeonghan said enthusiastically. "Can you believe Dr. Lee had me in for three surgeries back to back? My hands feel like they're going to fall off."

Chan chuckled. "He's probably just testing you." Chan looked around to ensure no one could hear them, and gestured for Jeonghan to come closer. "Word is he's looking for a new assistant on his team. And you're on his list."

Jeonghan pulled away, eyes wide in disbelief. "M-me?"

Chan nodded. "But don't mention it to anyone. And don't get your hopes up. It's just a rumour at this point." Jeonghan absent-mindedly nodded, still processing the information.

After clocking out, Jeonghan waved a quick goodbye to Chan before heading out of the door, head still in the clouds, thinking about what it would mean to work on Dr. Lee's team. The doors automatically opened, and frigid air snapped him out of his daze. It was refreshing.

Waiting for him outside the doors was a familiar face, bundled up in a coat and a scarf, hands shoved in his pockets go shield them from the cold, and ocassionally rubbing them together and blowing hot air from his mouth into them. He hopped around a little, trying to keep himself warm, and zipped up his coat a little more, all the way up to his chin.

When Seungcheol noticed Jeonghan, his face lit up and his mouth curled into a smile, his dimples suddenly visable. "Ah you're finally here!" He gestured for Jeonghan to follow him, and grabbed his arm. "Let's go, I made dinner."
