"Go out with me", Seungcheol blurted out.

"Wha-What!?" Jeonghan was taken aback. He just met this man! And he was massively injured!

"I'm not your patient anymore, so you can, and I really...want to get to know you better." Suddenly, the once proud man feebly looked down at the floor, embarrassed or shy, or a combination of both, Jeonghan couldn't tell. In a much quieter voice, the man began "I'm not a bad guy...I'm a lawyer...and I really the way you smile" His voice became quieter and quieter until it became a faint whisper. The man looked up at Jeonghan, who was still at a loss for words.

"Mr. Choi..."

"Seungcheol, please. I think we're about the same age."

"Seungcheol I-" Jeonghan couldn't get the words out of his mouth.

Seungcheol turned red as a tomato. He knew what that hesitation meant. "That's okay. I understand. Thank you for everything, Doctor. I'll be on my way now", he said quietly, his voice filled with defeat. He took a wobbly step towards the door and placed his hand on the door handle when he heard the doctor speak.

"Yes"

Seungcheol turned around so fast he knew he must have dislocated a rib.

"I'll go out with you, Seungcheol"

Jeonghan can't believe he just agreed to go out with someone he just met less than half an hour ago. He didn't know anything about him! Nothing!

But something in him felt like he could trust Seungcheol. There was something about his confident by shy demeanor, the way he seemed 30 but also 8 at the same time, that made Jeonghan feel safe. After exchanging numbers and deciding on a date and time, Seungcheol left. Jeonghan had butterflies in his stomach - he couldn't wait for Sunday.

"Now, who told you to agree to go out with a random guy you met at the hospital, huh?" Jeonghan huffed at Joshua's nagging voice over the phone.

"He's not random, Shua. He's a lawyer. I saw his business card and everything."

"So what? Lawyers can be creeps too. There's no law against it, Jeonghan."

"Oh hush. He seemed nice! And smart. Do you know he helped me solve that case I had been working on for a week! All he did was hear some of the symptoms and he got it." Jeonghan placed the phone between his ear and his shoulder, as he unlocked the door to his apartment, holding his brown paper bag of groceries in his other hand. Jeonghan could just imagine Joshua's disapproving face right now, and heard a sigh on the other side of the line.

"Now, how about you stop being annoying and start being helpful and help me find something to wear for the date. It's tomorrow night."

"Why do you need my help? Your fashion sense is impeccable"

"Drop the sarcasm, Hong. You going to help or not?" Jeonghan finally managed to get the key to turn, and swung the door open.

"Fine. I'll be over in a few." The line went dead, and Jeonghan smiled at his friend's immaturity. He dropped the groceries on the countertop of his kitchen, and flopped onto the couch. Being a resident was hard. He was exhausted from working days and nights, and his eyelids felt droopy. He almost nodded off when he heard the door rattle open. Joshua walked in and found Jeonghan on the couch, falling asleep.
