"Jeonghan, I've been meaning to ask. Why the sudden fascination with polaroids? I mean, you didn't have the camera before, I'm assuming."

Jeonghan looked up. "Ahh, these? Well actually, a little bit before we...broke up, I was looking through my phone and realised we almost had no pictures together. So I bought one."

"So why not just take pictures on our phones?"

"What if something happened to them?" Jeonghan countered. "These," Jeonghan said, picking up a picture, "are permanent. And memorable. Unique. One of a kind. Special." Jeonghan looked into Seungcheol's eyes, suddenly more serious. "Whether we make it or not, I want to remember these memories for life. Both the good and the bad."

Seungcheol's eyes were now glossy, tears at the back of his throat, threatening to spill out. "Jeonghan, we will make it. I promise." Seungcheol took Jeonghan's hands in his, and Jeonghan gave him a small smile, and nodded.

"I know."

"In fact, there was something I had been wanting to tell you for a while..." Seungcheol began, letting go of Jeonghan's hands. He fiddled with his fingers a bit, clearly nervous, and Jeonghan's heart beat a bit faster - he had an idea what this was about."I've thought about it for a long time, and I think you should know how I feel. You don't have to say anything, but I just want you to know-"

Seungcheol's words were drowned out by his own thoughts. Jeonghan had known this was coming, it was only a matter of time. He internally debated whether he was ready to hear it or not. And yet, he couldn't stop the giddy feeling in his stomach, the fluttering in his heart. For the first time in a long time, Jeonghan was actually happy. Really happy. And, if he was being honest with himself, it was because of Seungcheol. Seungcheol brought with him a kind of sunshine, a kind of happiness he had only seen in romance movies and heard about in fairytales. Jeonghan felt like he was the most important person to Seungcheol, the center of his universe. Moments without him feel empty and lifeless.

Isn't that love?

Jeonghan took a deep breath. It was now or never.

"I love you too, Seungcheol," he said, calmly. Or as calmly as possible. He tried to hide his shaking hands, covering one up with the other, and forced himself to steady his breathing. There was silence for a while. Seungcheol said nothing, and Jeonghan's stomach begun to churn. Had he made a mistake?

"You...love me?" Jeonghan could see the tears pooling in his eyes, but Seungcheol tried to blink them away.

He nodded. "Do...you?"

Seungcheol got up from his chair and beckoned Jeongahan to get up too, embracing him in a tight hug. "Of course I love you. More than I care to admit to myself." Seungcheol lovingly stroked the younger's hair, placing a small kiss on his head, and he could feel Jeonghan beginning to tear up. "I've loved you since day one. And I'll love you till day 20,000. That's my promise."

Jeonghan finished scribbling down the prescription and ripped it out of the pad, handing it to the nurse standing nearby. He muttered a quick thank you before returning to his conversation.

"So yeah, what was I saying?"

"The White Coat Ceremony. You were asking if I was bringing anyone," Soonyoung replied.
