"You know, how come we never spend the night at my place?" Jeonghan said, throwing on one of Seungcheol's dress shirts over his jeans, getting ready to go to work. Although it was a little too big for him, he didn't mind. "And how come I always somehow don't have any clothes."
Seungcheol chuckled, and got up from he was sitting on the bed, already dressed for work to give his boyfriend a small peck on the lips. "You can just keep wearing my clothes. I don't mind."
Jeoghan scrunched up his nose. "Pass. I like my comfy t-shirts . How come all you own are dress shirts?"
Seungcheol raised an eyebrow. "I'm a lawyer...?"
"Lawyers should be comfortable too! It's not like you go to court every day."
Seungcheol stifled a laugh. "You know what? You're right! Why do we have to wear suits every day?" Seungcheol put his hands on his hips, in an attempt to be sarcastic, but Jeonghan didn't seem to notice.
"My point exactly!" Jeonghan exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air.
Seungcheol chuckled. "You're cute."
Jeonghan grabbed his backpack and made his way to the living room, and Seungcheol followed behind him like a little puppy.
"I know," Jeonghan said without turning back.
"Tell you what, we'll swing by your apartment and pick up some clothes to put in the closet on our way back home."
"Sounds great. Now, let's get going, we're going to be late."
Seungcheol nodded, and Jeonghan tossed him the car keys from the crystal bowl near the door as he stepped out, making his way down the stairs, and Seungcheol caught them swiftly, closing and locking the door behind him.
And so this had become their routine for the better part of the month. Waking up together and getting ready for work. Seungcheol would drop Jeongahan off at work, picking him up again on his way back for dinner, and then Jeonghan would sleep over (whenever they would actually let each other sleep, that is). Rise and repeat.
~"Here, let me help you unpack." Seungcheol lifted the heavy suitcase onto the bedroom bed and unzipped it so that Jeonghan could take all his clothes out. "You can keep your clothes in this closet," he said, pointing to an empty closet next to his, which he had cleared out earlier that day, "and any other clothes you don't want to hang in this drawer over here."
"Thanks. Let me just hang up all my shirts." Jeonghan grabbed some of the hangers placed in the closet and began to hang his clothes one by one. Seungcheol decided to help by folding all the other clothes thrown hastily into the suitcase.
"There. All done," Jeonghan declared. He looked at the closet, now filled with his clothes, and chuckled a little.
"What? What's so funny?" Seungcheol asked, clueless.
Jeonghan swatted his hand. "It's nothing. It's nothing."
"Tell meeeeeeee,"Seungcheol whined, pouting slightly. Jeonghan giggled. He was too cute to resist. "Okay okay, I'll tell you. Quit being a baby. I was just thinking that I brought most of my clothes here and now that I have a closet and a drawer, it's almost like I live here now. At this rate, it might just be easier to move in together." Jeonghan laughed at his own ridiculous thought, but Seungcheol didn't.
Nobody spoke for a few moments.
"See? This is why I didn't want to tell you. Now I've freaked you out. I was just kidding, Seungcheol. I'm happy with the way things are. Really." Jeonghan gave Seungcheol a forced smile and tried to reassure him. "Just forget I ever said-"
"No," Seungcheol interrupted. "Let's do it."
"Do what?" Jeonghan said, raising an eyebrow.
"Let's move in together."
Jeonghan didn't say anything or move, trying to process what Seungcheol was saying, before eventually snapping out of it.
"Wha-what are you talking about?"
Seungcheol got up and walked closer to Jeonghan. "It's perfect! You're here most days anyway. We already know we work together well. I don't see why not!"
"I'm not so sure...Moving in together is a big step. Plus this place is so far from work... and what if you get annoyed with me?"
"I could never get annoyed of you. I love you, remember?" Seungcheol stepped even closer to Jeonghan, placing a kiss on his cheek.
"I love you too but-"
"And we don't have to live here," Seungcheol interrupted again. "We can find a place closer to the hospital. It doesn't matter to me."
"Really? You'd move?"
Seungcheol shrugged. "Sure, why not? It'll be great. A fresh start for both of us. It'd be nice to change things up."
Jeonghan thought for a moment, and Seungcheol waited patiently, until he said something.
"Okay. Let's do it. Let's move in together."
Seungcheol's face lit up and he hugged Jeonghan tightly, eventually picking his light frame up and twirling him around, until they both collapsed on to the bed, breathing heavily from laughing.
-----------------------------*~*----------------------------Minho sat at his desk in his room, flipping through the case files one by one, with only the light of a single lamp to illuminate the words. He went through the pages as fast as he could, trying to absorb as much information as he could before heading out to meet their "business partners" tomorrow. As he skimmed over one particular page, he noticed a name.
"Choi Seungcheol" he muttered to himself through gritted teeth. He recognized that name. He was the one who put his father on trial the first time.
But something else bothered him. He'd felt like heard that name somewhere else. From someone else
His eyes suddenly widened as he remembered something.
It couldn't be...
Minho quickly whipped out his cell phone and hurriedly dialed one of the few numbers he remembers. The line rang a few times until it connected with a click.
"Honey?" a tired voice said on the other line.
"Hey baby. Sorry to call so late. I had a quick question. What's your brother's name again?"
"My brother? Seungcheol."
"And he's a lawyer right?"
"Yeah..."
"Thanks. Sorry again for disturbing you."
"Minho are you in some kind of trouble? Why are you suddenly so curious about-" she began, but he had cut her off before she could finish her thought.
Minji heard the line die and laid awake for a few moments, rubbing her eyes and wondering what that could possibly be about. She thought about it for a while before eventually letting the sleep take her, not thinking too much of the interaction.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss, Minho thought to himself.
