A big thank you to Hannie17s for adding this story! I hope you continue to enjoy it!

"Alright boss, I checked all the banks' databases for any indication of where Congressman Kim hid the embezzled money. There was nothing on his name, nor any of his family names, and he has no known aliases. No unusual activity and no large transactions in the last three years."

"Shit" Seungcheol looked down at the files on his desk, but the words were simply a blur. Was he...wrong? Was Kim really not guilty? If he wasn't, then who was? Seungcheol ran his hands through his thick black hair, and with the other hand clicked his pen. Once. Twice. Thrice. Four times.

Seokmin shook his head and took the pen out of his boss's hands, slamming it on the desk and snapping Seungcheol out of his thoughts. "What's the plan now?"

He had to be right. There's no way he's wrong. Not after all the evidence he had the first time.

Right?

Seungcheol shook his head, as if to physically shake all his doubts and fears out of his mind. There must be some logical explanation.

"Well if it's not in any banks, have we checked his properties?"

Seokmin gave his boss a look that said "you really don't think I checked?"

"No cash there. We checked his local residence and his summer home. I can't seem to think of anywhere else he could hide that much money."

Seungcheol sighed. He really didn't want it to come to this. "I suppose it's time to start looking into some...underground operations. But in the meanwhile, I want you to pull the financial records of these congressmen too. We need to see if they have any link to Kim."

Seungcheol handed him a list of names and Seokmin nodded. "Got it, boss."

"In the meanwhile, I have someone I need to pay a visit to."

--------------------------*~*--------------------------

Seungcheol slammed his car door as he reached the destination. The bright sun was causing him to squint, so be grabbed his sunglasses, silver frame and custom made, our of his suit pocket and put them on. This wasn't a formal occasion, so Seungcheol ditched the tie, keeping the first few buttons of his white shirt unbuttoned. He looked at himself in one of the side-view mirrors and mussed his hair a bit. Deeming the look appropriate, Seungcheol clicked the lock button on his car keys, and was off.

He told him to meet him at the café, so Seungcheol took a seat at an empty table and ordered himself a coffee. After waiting for a few minutes, Seungcheol heard the bell chime, signaling that someone had arrived. The man made his way over to Seungcheol's table, and dragged a chair out, taking a seat across from him.

"Hyung"

Seungcheol raised his gaze to meet the man's and just nodded at him.

It's been a long time hasn't it?"

"Enough small talk, Mark. I need something from you. And I heard you need something from me, don't you?"

Mark drummed his fingers on the table, debating whether to tell the other or not. "Well..umm..you see.."

"Out with it." Seungcheol barked, slamming his cup down on the table.

Mark jumped a little in his seat, but decided it was in his best interest to tell his cousin. "Okay, so I seemed to have got into a bit of trouble..."

"Nothing new there. What is it this time?"

"Well...an actress is suing me for defamation."

"Did you attempt to defame her?"

"Well yeah obviously, I work for a tabloid remember? The truth just doesn't sell."

Seungcheol sighed and rolled his eyes. This kid. "I'll take care of it. Now, I need something from you."

"What could you possibly need from me? Is it a...date? I know plenty of wannabe celebs you would be perfect for." Mark raised his eyebrows playfully at his cousin.

Seungcheol was not amused.

Mark raised his eyebrows some more, but then gave up and took a sip of his coffee. "Okay so not a date. What is it then?"

"Do you know Congressman Kim?"

"I'm young, not stupid hyung."

Seungcheol gave him a sharp look, but continued. "I need you spy on him. Find out if he has any known affiliations within the government and outside. And if he meets anyone suspicious, take photos and send them to me ASAP. Basically, follow him everywhere and get any information you can."

"But why?"

Seungcheol crossed his arms. "I have my reasons."

Mark waited for Seungcheol to elaborate, and when he didn't, he just sighed. This was going to be a lot of work.

--------------------------*~*--------------------------

Jeonghan came home for the first time in two nights and crashed on his couch. He was exhausted. Two nights on-call in a row was a lot to handle. On top of that, he was so busy he hadn't gotten to see his boyfriend since the date at the amusement park. Jeonghan really really missed him. Right on time, Jeonghan's phone buzzed.

Seungcheol: Are you home?

Jeonghan: Yeah, I just got home

Seungcheol: How are you feeling?

Jeonghan: Tired and stressed. I just want to take my mind of things.

Jeonghan's phone immediately rang and Jeonghan picked up.

"Tell me about it."

"Tell you about what?"

"Well I heard that if you're stressed it helps to vent. So I'm all ears. Tell me."

"Okay. So it all started this Monday when Dr. Kang..."

Seungcheol listened carefully to Jeongan's story. With all the craziness of the case, Seungcheol couldn't find any time to visit his boyfriend either. He closed his eyes, just listening to Jeonghan's voice. The soft tone combined with his laughs here and there were enough to melt all his stress away.

"... and anyways, it's all so stressful that I just want to escape."

Seungcheol suddenly sat up straighter. He had an idea.

"Jeonghan, I have to go now but I'll call you back in an hour okay?"

"Okay. Bye!"

"Bye"

Jeonghan suddenly worried if he had taken too much of his time. Was he bothering him? Jeonghan's phone buzzed again, A text from Seungcheol.

❤️

Relieved, Jeonghan just smiled at his phone like the smitten idiot he was.

--------------------------*~*--------------------------

After about an hour of mindlessly flipping channels, Jeonghan heard a knock at the door. He wasn't expecting anyone, so this was odd. Jeonghan looked through the peephole, and upon seeing who it was, swung the door open immediately.

"Seungcheol!"

Seungcheol smiled and pulled his boyfriend into a hug, placing a soft kiss on his forehead.

"Sorry I haven't been able to visit all week."

Jeonghan shook his head. "Don't be sorry, I was swamped too. But what are you doing here so suddenly?"

"I have something planned. Let's go."

"Where? It's almost 9:00 at night."

"You said you wanted to escape. I'm here to make that happen." Jeonghan tilted his head and looked at the man, not understanding.

Seungcheol just chuckled and held his hand out to Jeonghan. "Do you trust me?"

And Jeonghan did.

A/N: This chapter is kind of a dud, my brain was just not working. Sorry about that! The next few chapters should be interesting, though!
