Interviewer:
Zaolat03: My name is Zainab
Interviewer: Alright Zainab. Pls, can you describe yourself in two words?
Zaolat03: Well, I am calm and stubborn. 😄
Interviewer: Lolzz. Then I can guess throughout this interview you won't get stubborn on me, but you would be calm. Alright Zainab, let's get down to business.
Zaolat03: Sure, I will be calm.
Q: So I already read your work "STARS IN SLUM" and I must commend you first for a job well down. My first question is, what brought about the birth of "STARS IN SLUM"?
A: Really, I find it hard to answer this question because I never intended to write more than ten chapters at first. I mean The old plot was entirely different.
My search for the right slum areas to use played a large part in me changing my plot, hence the birth of STARS IN SLUM.
Interviewer: Okay, nice.
Q: So Zainab, going by the death of Awwal, left to me, I thought he would have stayed until the ending. I want to ask, was it your initial plan to have him die before the ending or did you plan otherwise?
A: Yes, it was my initial plan.
Interviewer: Alright. Moving on, Zainab. Let's talk about the character, Mr. Dawood.
Q: What advice would you give to the fathers out there who are adamant about making sure that their children go to school instead of learning a trade if the children do wish?
A: Well, the advice I am about to give now isn't just for fathers, but all parents. Of course education is vital and pivotal to one's life but, all fingers aren't equal, all kids aren't the same. If a child suddenly shows disinterest in schooling (not the lazy ones), proper attention should be given to him/her, the letters might be dancing. Take it easy and seek medical help, allow him/her to do what he/she likes best (painting, drawing, sculpting, building, and etc). Dyslexic children are geniuses who, without education, can change the world positively with their immeasurable talents.
Interviewer: Perfect!!
Q: Okay, so to the mood of the plot. What was your mood while writing the plot of "STARS IN SLUM"? And did you stick to that particular mood??
A: My mood wasn't constant at all so I can't tell. No, I did not.
Interviewer: Okay. So Zainab, I guess you already know people would like to review your book. I just want to know if you would be ready for harsh replies if there is a need for one.
Zaolat03: I won't sugarcoat anything. I am not ready for harsh replies 😄, but I have no choice. I just need to get used to it.
Interviewer: Very good because the most reviewer tends to be blunt, but you just have to braid up for whatever they will say about a particular book.
We, at the Golden Writers Community, give people a way to make their books known, so I must tell you to look forward to different awards we host to make your work more known.
Q: What part of the story did you enjoy writing the most and what character?
A: Alright, thank you so much. The interviews and the character Awwal.
Q: Why the interviews?
A: I enjoyed writing the interviews because that way, I was able to show my readers what the residents of Ajegunle go through in their daily lives.
Interviewer: Hmm...Okay. What an unpleasant life it is for those living in the slum.
Q: What advice would you give for those who go through the pain of sexual molestation and teenage pregnancy? As in the case of Jumai, Salma, and also Bunmi.
A: As for sexual molestation, I know it's hard for victims to voice out for the fear of being judges but it's best again if they confide in a trustworthy person, might be someone you are used to or someone they aren't (this means that strangers turn to confidants most times and they understand you even better than those you are used to).
As for teenage pregnancies, Only those who were forced will go through pain but those who weren't going through shame. My advice to them is to abstain from premarital sex (This is lame, really. Premarital sex is now a normal thing to some of the girl teens).
Interviewer: Perfect! You've said it all.
Thank you for making out time for this interview. We, the host, co-host, and all members of staff of the Golden Writer's Community, really appreciate you for your time.
Pls, remember to check out all our other awards, and don't forget to wait for the review on your book.
