"Sometimes it takes an overwhelming breakdown to have an undeniable breakthrough."Wednesday.
A knock at the door startled Oliver awake, he groaned loudly because in all reality he had only just fallen asleep he'd been tossing and turning all night.
He was restless.
The knocking grew louder making him sigh. "Mateo I swear to god-" He had fallen asleep in the living room. He upgraded from the floor to the couch. He threw off his blanket picking up his glasses and walking to the door swinging it open.
"Good morning sweetheart!" Joseph and Wes exclaimed at the same time making him let out a laugh.
Not the wake up call he was expecting but he would roll with it.
"I know we had plans for the day but-" They ignored him walking past the shorter boy into the apartment Joseph planted a kiss on Oliver's head Wes fluffed up his hair winking at the short boy.
They were both dressed and ready for the day wearing matching black jeans and grey v-necks. He shook his head closing the door turning and facing them.
"No really just make yourself at home," Oliver's lips tilted up into an exasperated smile. "I don't mind."
"Well we were going to do a family game day but I haven't gotten the chance to volunteer in a while so I thought it might be nice to get out of the house and do that," Joseph explained. "And we have to start early!"
Oliver laughed shaking his head. Even on his dad's time off, he was always doing something. If not helping someone then fixing something. He shook his head, "Am I allowed to get dressed and-"
"Ooo Jo, can I have some cereal?" Wes questioned he was already cutting up a banana and slicing it in a bowl though making the shorter boy grin.
"Go for it."
"You went shopping?" Joesph pointed out. It was less of a question more of a statement a proud look in the other man's eyes.
He couldn't help but puff his chest at that. He had went shopping!
"Yeah-yeah." Oliver rubbed the back of his neck lips twitching up. "With some friends..."
"That's great." Joesph followed Oliver down the hallway into the bedroom. He plopped down on Oliver's un slept bed watching as the shorter boy moved through his closet. "You slept in the living room."
"I've got my records out there," Oliver said softly, "I like listening to the music..."
"I noticed you still haven't unpacked," Joesph's voice was soft caring, "I can help you with that if you want?"
He had asked that question a few times when Oliver moved in. Offered to help him with unpacking and shopping, Oliver kept denying the man though. It was a sweet offer he just...wanted to figure it out on his own.
"No that's alright thanks though dad," Oliver shot him a smile. "You're looking at me like you want to say something but your not. What's up?"
He grabbed some jeans off the hook a long sleeve grey v-neck and his maroon hoodie. He wouldn't hear the end of it from the pair if he didn't match them.
"I heard you made some friends," he tilted his head a worried smile crossing his face. "Good people? What about that guy you were going out with? You've kinda been avoiding mentioning it in our chats."
Oliver sucked in a breathe fiddling with the end of his sleeve. "Right well...we decided it was better to be just friends. At least for now," He offered lightly Joesph frowned but let Oliver continue speaking. "The whole situation is a little...complicated. But um I did make some friends. Mateo my neighbor, Elizabeth too she's a little more particular but she means well. I think I've mentioned James..."
